I dont mean to question her sincereity to her child, but she should have a more positive attitude towards her body since shes now responsible for another humans life. It would be very sad if that child has to grow up watching the mother struggle with a disease that couldve been preventable. Im not saying she will be in that situation, just hypothetical.

And beause so many people (clearly) look up to her she could be helping out alot of women by being a role model and motivating them. But she wont do that because she doesnt care. So there goes the whole role model crap her fans like to roar about. And shes not a representative for indian women either. And shes far from ordinary. Shes a regular celebrity out there to make money and people need to stop putting her on a pedestal.

"When compared with other age groups, US women aged 35 to 44 years have experienced the greatest increase in obesity prevalence in the past 45 years. Furthermore, 45% of women begin pregnancy overweight or obese, up from 24% in 1983. Gestational weight gain is also higher than ever before, with 43% of pregnant women gaining more than is recommended.

Maternal overweight and obesity is the most common high-risk obstetric condition and is associated gestational diabetes mellitus, hypertensive disorders, and newborn macrosomia, among other perinatal complications."

Gunderson, Erica P. Childbearing and obesity in women: weight before, during, and after pregnancy. Obstet Gynecol Clin North Am. 2009 June;36(2):317'32. ix.

i guess my observations were not that far fetched afterall... 😛 rest, you can agree/disagree... your prerogative...
fact is, most people who obviously dislike her are not exactly going to be her well wishers (there are exceptions everywhere)... i'm sure she's smart enough and has access to some of the best doctors as well, who do advise her... since neither of us are familiar with her medical history or her case status, it is ridiculous to make assumptions on what might or might not happen...
i wasn't suggesting that you were suggesting something to that effect, but it certainly came that way from your posts (among many others)..
again, how do you know 'she does not care'...? every fan likes to put their favorites on the pedestal... and i haven't seen any such comments from her fans that you speak of, unless i missed something... or you are considering media to be her fan...? that would explain it... but then again, the same media likes to drag her through the mud too, so to speak... and she might be a clebrity but she is a mother also, just like any other... or are celebs not allowed to be human once in a while...?

Nuktacheen, i really have no desire to prolong this discussion because clearly u r entitled to ur opinion and view as i am to mine. And plus shes not my relative that i have to defend her or criticize her so vehemently, she can turn into a baluga for all i care :) and i can also provide u with MORE RECENT research, if u want.

Anyway...thanks for the lauggh wateronearth...

Heres one that clearly states asains (not chinese, korean, or japanese which is what most studies classify asians as) pakistani, bangalis, Indians, sri lankans etc...are at higher risks for gestational diabetes (google causes, im not going to do that as well-its a very in-depth sort of topic)

http://miscarriage.about.com/b/2012/01/24/south-asian-women-at-risk-for-gestational-diabetes.

Herres one study of IMMIGRANT WOMEN of SOUTH ASIAN ethinicity that states that the SOUTH ASIAN women DID retain their weight
http://www.jogc.com/abstracts/full/201009_Obstetrics_1.pdf

Ive a few more im not really interest in listing and explaining. I tried to be specific because im not talkimg about ALL asian women, just south asian women, which is what we are. There are studies online that say asian women DONT gain much weight, but thats not us, theyre lumping the whole of asia.

Although i did find out that the longerr one breast-feeds the more weight ur body will retain. After the 6 month or so period, your body will stop losing weight and will start retaining and gaining. And top that off with the inactivity of desi's and youve got a baluga on hand 😆

Ok anyway, this will be my last post here, i dont have time to do research and satisfy the whims of others. Ive summer school to start and i think ill expend my energies there.

So happy gossiping to u too!

as for your first link, nowhere does it state that asians are at a higher risk... better than google, are the medical journals that i recieve...! 😛😛
as for the second study, that focuses on the immigrant population in canada... which focuses on effects of immigration, so i fail to see how that proves your point...
yes, the typical lifestyle is pretty inactive... i won't deny that... and yes, it is true that once you start breastfeeding, your body tends to retain the weight instead of losing it... since your body needs to produce the extra nutrient for the baby, it does tend to conserve the mass... i found that out, contrary to my belief, a few years ago... 😆😆
that being said... i wasn't asking you to do research... but if you make a claim on a public forum, then your views will be countered... comes with the territory of being on a public forum, you see...
since your views were drastically off from what i have seen, i merely questioned them... that is all...
by the way... something that many people tend to forget... diets rich in soda, burgers, pizzas and outside food will also add up the pounds... not just rice, wheat and ghee...
good luck on your school...!

I dont know why that link isnt working and its taking me to a completely different article as well. So heres the intro from the article and ill give u the name of the article for u to search.
And googling does not mean having search results of blogs, it also gives u results for journals and articles. Theres a button called advance search to narrow ur results in case u didnt know.

"South asian women at risk for gestational diabetes"

Gestational Diabetes is a growing problem for all populations, but for South-Asian women, the risk of Gestational Diabetes is even higher. According to the National Institutes of Health, rates of diabetes range from 2-10% of all pregnancies, though the average is usually reported at 7%. However, for South-Asian women (women from Indian, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Bangledesh) get gestational diabetes at a rate of 14% of all pregnancies.

And these r proper studies with links to their sources.

And clearly u DID NOT read the second study if thats ur conclusion. 🤔Theres more to a study than its title.

And i think people r aware pizzas and burgers do make u gain weight, so i dont know why mention that...i havent seen anyone say its healthy.

i read what i could... the links were not working... i read the abstract... though would like to read the article too... however, having seen firsthand such studies, a portion of the population does not reflect for the whole desi population... many of the desis actually end up gaining weight here... maybe it's the water...? i don't know... however, that is what i hear... so comparing the immigration population to the population back home isn't exacty comparing apples to apples...
again, you're looking at one side of the picture and ignoring the other... but again, that is your prerogative... fact is, indian women aren't exactly at the peak of obesity as many (not just you) claim... diabetes is not always accompanied with obesity so i don't see how that supports your original post... on that topic, not only diabetes but cholestrol is also a problem among the desi population... 😛😛

whoever said tthyroid malfunction causes body weight rise - NOT true

ur thyroid goes haywire when u dont exercise or eat well or lots of stress. thyroid actually shields one n her baby.

Pregnancy - in rural india, women work double triple th amount of any woman in urban area. even after their pregnancies. if ashwarya is taking care of her baby ALONE, even that wud show a difference in her but alas, excuses excuses.

err, not true...
Often thyroid disorders have subtle symptoms that only appear gradually and as a result, they are typically misdiagnosed. Someone may be struggling with obesity because their thyroid is dysfunctional and as a result, they have a severe energy imbalance they can't control. However, a doctor may not catch this and simply expect that if he or she works out more and eats less, weight loss will occur. But this is not the case if the patient's thyroid gland is malfunctioning.
again, that is not always the case... without knowing the medical history, it's all mere speculation (in ash's case anyways)...
women in rural area don't keep the weight because they are doing heavy work, not because they're taking care of their babies ONLY ... i doubt that is what ash is doing... taking care of the baby is no guarantee of losing weight... i don't even know how people come up with that... 🤔
not true.. people think taking care of the baby will make one loose weight... i guess when you have celebs like karishma parading around that view, it's easier to believe (not saying that about you, btw... just making a general comment)... because her case is definitely diet and exercise... not just running after the kid...!

Not sure why people think taking care of your baby will make you lose weight. It doesn't. Babies don't run around that you need to be running after them doing exercise. In fact for the first few months they barely move - you have to feed them and put them to sleep. That's about all they do then. It's only after they start crawling (usually after 6 months) and then walking at 1+ that you are being more physically active. What babies are great at is causing sleep deprivation. They are not great exercise machines.

I'm finding all this speculation about why Aishwariya hasn't lost weight from possible thyroid issues to simply being lazy and not looking after her baby highly amusing. Not sure why she even needs a medical reason to not have lost weight. She could simply just not be obsessed with losing weight at the moment. Or that she isn't an 'average' woman so she doesn't have the right to not lose weight straight away. Or that she is setting an example of obesity or weight issues for her 6 month old baby. Are people actually serious when they write all this? So if a woman doesn't lose weight in the first year of having a baby at nearly 40 she must be resigned to being fat for the rest of her life? What an absolute joke if people actually are seriously this obsessed with her private life so much that they want to set a schedule for her to lose weight on. If you find it offensive that she has promoted beauty products in the past and is now overweight, don't buy them. Write a letter of complaint to the people who use her as an endorsement and tell them you are totally offended she hasn't lost weight after giving birth and hence you won't buy their products any more. Make your voice heard. Then possibly see a psychologist to discuss why a woman's weight is such a big deal to you ;)
