REVIEW

Wow what a start. I am short of adjectives that would describe this Show. From the title credits (with the 70-80 BG score )which takes us back in time to the Golden Era of Indian Cinema to the unraveling of the story to the crowded Bombay V.T to the grand celebrations leading to Ganpati Visarjan and finally to the world of Cinema "Lights, Roll Sound, Roll Camera, Take and Action"…….Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon had it all…..Action, Tragedy, Drama, Item Song, Blink and Miss Chase, and every other ingredient that goes into the making of a full on Dhamaal, Kamaal Bemisaal Bollywood Cinema were used and they were Bang on!!!

We all know that that the first few Episodes have been shot in the famous Ramoji Studios in Hyderabad. I had the opportunity to Visit these sets which was and is a once in a life-time opportunity and after seeing the way the sets were used in the show today, one thing I can say for sure is that the Creative team have outdone themselves in capturing the grandiose and beauty of the sets.

On its very first episode, in the absence of the leads DD and VD when one feels that the episode may be dragging/boring the makers leaves you surprised and in awe. They have left no stone unturned in making the episode a Block Buster and they have surely succeeded. They have laid a strong foundation to the future tracks/to the show and just in a span of one hour they have managed to give us an Idea of all the characters, established them and also given us a glimpse of their character sketch, the various relationships and the kind of bond they share with each other.

Each and every actor has shone in their respective roles, and watching them gives you the goose bumps. Another feather can be added to Raj Zutshi's hat. His opening Scene on the Vintage Car, his ill-treatment towards his own blood and his wife, his interactions with his Mom everything about his portrayal as the menacing Thakur Balraj Chaudhary was truly enthralling!

In fact everybody be it Shagufta Ali (Shobha Devi Thakurain aka Badi Chaudhrain), Sushmita Mukharjee (Dai Maa), , Lalit Parimoo (Guru Ji), Pallavi Purohit (Padmini) or for that matter even the child artist Druti Jhaveri (Trishna) showcased superlative realistic performances today and were an absolute treat to watch.

All in all the First Day First Show of Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon was a full on Paisa Vasool Experience.
