Awesome post AreYaar

The ensemble cast in this show are all a breath of fresh air. The lead girl surprisingly can act which is rear especially for new comers but actress emote her scenes very well. I have no words for Varun & Narayani those two are in a class by themselves.

The supporting cast aren't war flowers either, some we have seen many serials before like the actor plays Narayani brother was last seen in Colors Rishton Se Badi Pratha. Actor Shaji Chaudary who was in Jodha Akbar, as Akbar foster brother is the driver who takes the Bedni to dance for the Thakurs.
Irony here is Thakur Vikram Singh will also have Maham Anga in his life. 😆

The director must mention is doing a excellent job that butterfly scene and Sugni massaging her mother foot was beautifully. My favorite scene by far is the Thakurs face off.

Thakur Vikram Singh : "You can change your Bedni but not your Motherland"

Now for the Gulaal reference when I saw the scene with Gulabiya dancing I thought of the Deeyarvattu scene with Gulaal and young Kesar. Also the scene where Gulaal comes running when Kesar was burning the chunar. That is the set of Motabha house they're using, they can change it up a little but those of us who watch Gulaal know better. 😆

This scene at 7:14 definitely looks where Gulabiya was dancing.

The second episode was what sealed it for me as well. I was already in, but the second episode sealed it. The driver, we saw a three dimensional character in his and Gulabiya's interaction while he was demanding Sugini. Then when he blocked Sugni's escape, that quick flicker in his eyes--for less than split second--only to proceed to show no mercy or lenience.

And then came the girls who quickly formed a line in front of Sugni. I think that was the what really did it for me. Not only did they attempt to shield her, they even pleaded for her. It was in vain, but still, how quickly they tried to shield her and ask for a pardon. That for me fully and completely sealed it. And then to add on was Gulabiya's pleading for Sugni and the Thakur asking Gulabiya who the girl is. After which a possibility that had already crossed my mind but didn't really expect it to be the case--well it turned out to be the case.

And by then... as I said, I was completely in.

I completly agree with all here..

The lead actors are fab .. Narayani, Vkram and that girl .. they r all naturals.. we dont c any efforts in their acting.. ist soo smooth that we r so engrossed in the scenes...
I dont kboe how the guy Adiya will be..
But rite now i am loving it :-)
And yes the Motabha's haveli it is.. wen i saw it i just went back to the old Gulaal days.. how i miss them, too..

Totally agree with you about the show.. it is different in many ways

The lead actor is refreshingly diff.. she has a spark in her eyes and she definitely is not a typical pretty types which is cool

NB and VB are both veteran actors with amazing screen presence

Even the rest of the cast seems very talented...

but what works totally n favor of all will be a strong story line and going by what we have seen till now... I hope that continues and they dont get side tracked into making it just a stupid love story... it is heart wrenching to watch the story of the bedni's. i really cannot believe that in this day and age there are still tribes which are taken advantage of so much... there is a lot in the story that I still do not understand since the dialect is a little diff too.

If i understand correctly - not only are these women dancers but whenever the thakur desires to sleep with any of them... they have to accept it willingly...? Also can some one please explain to me the nature of that relationship - is that woman meant only to be with that thakur or can other thakurs also lay claim to her?

So if the Bedni;s dont get to dream about marriage, then how come gulabiya 's 2 brothers are married? they must be married within their own caste i assume... so other bedia's isn't it?

The thakur who is the father of sugni - is he the brother in law of Vikram singh thakur?

So far Interesting story and excellent cast... lets wish it continues and more questions are answered.

I'm not sure, but the girls either dance or get married (to the men within the tribe of course). If they are married, they don't dance. Gulabiya is the sole earner for the family, which is why they place an importance on Sugni, because Gulabiya can only go on for so long.

Yes Thakur Vikram Singh is the brother-in-law of Sugni's father. Edit - I guess it's vague. I figured they were brothers-in-law.
