Eye Opener was that people in city thinks this was done mainly in villages, poor and illiterate people. But actual facts were really different.

It make sense that poor and village people are still not practising this as done in big metroes.

Illiterates do not know such test exist
Poor don't have money to conduct test and abortion

And the so called Doctors... to these people we call them "Degreewalas", pathetic... Jo logon ki zindagi ke saath khele they are not doctors but murderers...

i have watched the first episode twice already...it just connected right on...specially his introduction part and in the end reaching out to the viewers with that firm eye contact moved me thoroughly...what a well executed show...he pointed out everything...in terms of problems, where it happen, statistics, future analysis, how to cure it and also highlited those areas where change has already begun...so overall he managed to show us the whole scenario of the problem with facts and ways to overcome...and not to mention, how emotional it was...i cried most of the time watching it...was so real and bruthless...i hope we all give as much support as it requires...not to forget, aamir is just a medium...this is basically our show...so no one but us have to do all that we can...thank you aamir for such an eye opener...we need indians like u for the true shinning india today...

My take:

Positives:

Well packaged, well handled and very well researched. Everything was backed with proper proof. The best part is there was no shouting or fighting. No rushing to give or grab mic! Every angle of the problem was presented, emotional content was there but no overdose. Nice to see them showing people who took action and trying to cover all major states where this problem mainly occurs. Thank God and highly admirable that there were no camera zooms or swishes, and no filmy background music! It was very simple and no-nonsense. Commendable part is that they are offering ways to take action and are also following up issues every week.

Aamir as host:

Genuine. He was slightly awkward in beginning and seemed a little OTT when the last half hour segment started and he exhorted people to take action. Otherwise he was proper, simple, well spoken, fluent throughout. His eyes were moist at times. But he didn't sniff or bawl too much. He was very respectful and dignified as a host, with no shouting at all and the best part is that he did not point fingers at anyone, blasting away like news channel anchors do. I liked the way he connected with people and loved how he put onus on us - public.

Negatives:

The show can sometimes seem incoherent to some, because of the diverse section of audience it seeks to cover. So if Aamir speaks simplistic stuff, we urban guys might find it childish or wonder why he's telling us the obvious. If he goes about saying complicated things, discussed laws/details, then the less literate ones will feel everything went over their head! Aamir and team should balance it out some more.
I also think they should avoid deliberately showing shots of people in audience making faces or make us hear sounds of their sniffles and cries. Audience might be indeed crying. But let's just keep the show more no-nonsense please.
Though episodes have been shot, I would appreciate if Aamir is a little less theatrical in take action segments of the show. Slightly restrained please.

Other stuff I think which could be addressed could be to discuss causes of each problem too. First episode discussed problem, its spread, action or lack of it etc., but did not elaborate much on what leads to female foeticide. Instead of showing songs in end or 3 stories for one issue - focus on causes and interrelated challenges too.

OVERALL - Great effort and refreshing change. Some sense is finally back to mainstream channels on TV! We want more such stuff!!

Really loved the show...the very first episode was an eye opener as well as a tear jerker for me.
My heart goes out to the women who shared their stories...I wish no one ever has to go through what they did.
One of the most simple...yet captivating part of the show, for me...was a young girl they showed...she was living on the streets...the worst of economical circumstances you can imagine...yet she and her husband were happy with their baby girl...and when asked about if in the future she would prefer to have a boy...She replied simply that she's happy with whatever God gives her...how beautiful. If everyone thought as she did...this world would be a better place.
I'd just like to thank Aamir Khan and the entire team of Satyamev Jayate...for bringing forward such a beautiful show.

My thoughts on second episode of Satyamev Jayate:

- The episode was very good overall, with a topic that was totally taboo and almost always brushed under the rug in the name of orthodox Indian culture. I appreciate Aamir Khan and his team bringing out this topic in open for public discourse and awareness.👏

- I agree with some, that it should have been covered in a little more detail. The workshop was really good. Kudos to the Pune doctor for designing it.

- All real-life victims and survivors on this show - please take a bow! You went through so much! God bless you! And I salute them all for having the courage to share their stories on national TV with their families! You're no victims, you're heroes!👏

- Aamir: He's nice as always. BUT I think he should have allowed experts to speak a little more. In fact, I would have preferred if he had let the Pune doctor do the workshop himself, while he could have just stood beside as a co-teacher or facilitator. I did not like the doctor sitting in audience and Aamir doing everything himself. I am not against Aamir. But just felt, he should have allowed the expert to take over. At times Aamir takes too many pauses or does his usual ''umm''/''uh'' when he speaks. Though he has greatly toned it down, he should have worked more on it. It feels odd when he takes pauses saying simplest things.

Aamir should tone down his crying a bit. Sridevi also got emotional, but she did manage to control herself and remained stoic. Aamir was all breaking down even during Ram Sampath's song! 😲

- What I disliked - Don't mind, but I didn't like inclusion of Sridevi in a show on social issues. Satyamev Jayate for me, is a pure show, as real as it gets. I liked how Aamir himself shed his star persona for this show. But why invite celeb guests?I found it odd to invite Sridevi or she giving her movies' DVDs to her fan (the CSA survivor). I hope not more celebrities are invited to this show. It's one of a kind and must remain so. If they put celebs in it then how will it be different from other drama stuff on TV?

- I L-O-V-E-D Haule Haule song!!❤️ Take a bow the music team of Satyamev Jayate!!👍🏼 The song was so moving...it described the pain of a CSA victim so eloquently, the music was so soothing and such brilliant rendition by Ram Sampath! I hadn't been able to forget Oh re chirraiiya...and here comes Haule Haule! It got embedded in heart...😭

One best thing about this episode was that it made parents realise not to underestimate, ignore their children - but to listen to them, trust them and try to realise their pain. Be with your child, care about him/her first, and so-called family/social reputation later! I love Aamir for forcefully underlining this fact! It applies not only in cases of CSA, but also others like depression, physical or mental illness and other trauma one can go through in cases of rape, ragging or domestic violence. A child always looks up to his/her parents. If that sole support is also not with him/her, he or she would simply break down!! Don't sacrifice a child's life in chasing bubble of family/social status!👏

Anybody have any idea about this week's topic?

We've ranted enough on last week's episode. Though positive aspects for me was highlighting role of passport office, work of government in Punjab, some mention of work by Muslim organisations and the best one was explaining the good aspects of culture in North east states.

We only hear about insurgency or border disputes when it comes to NE states! Media completely neglects them. I was glad to learn about good practices in their culture. 😊
