Shah Rukh Khan in another remake

Hot on the heels of the Don remake, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan
will play Rishi Kapoor, in yet another Indian classic film remake.


Choreographer turned director Farah Khan, whose debut film Main Hoon
Na was an overnight success story, is basing her next project on the
classic Rishi Kapoor film Karz. Shah Rukh Khan is supposedly playing
the role made famous by Rishi Kapoor and even the title of the film
reflects one of the songs from the original, Om Shanti Om. The film
was previously titled Happy New Year. However Farah Khan has denied
this rumour and states "Just because my film is titled OM SHANTI OM
which happens to be a hit song from KARZ doesn't mean I am remaking
it. If my film was titled MEHBOOBA MEHBOOBA, it wouldn't mean I am
remaking SHOLAY."

The original Karz was directed by ace man Subhash Ghai is regarded as
one of Bollywood's gems.
