Yeah in the scripture and legends Tarakasur usually emerges long after Sati's death and he didn't have to worry about Shiva's son or wife at all. But here they've taken the strange decision to make him a contemporary of Sati. And when you do that, he's in a situation where the possibility of death is staring him in the face. So it kind of makes sense that he would worry about that but I think they went overboard with it.

BTW, the actor playing Taraksur also played Lord Shiva and Hanuman years ago on Jai Hanuman. It's a bit funny seeing him now as Shiva's enemy.

@bold: no wonder he looked familiar, i watched it a lot as a pree ten, tried to follow the show religiously, the show's casting was also quite good, the pavandev guy, who will later play laxman and the meghnad guy rocked, ram i don't remember, but sita was this pretty bong lady. The show stopped midway if i remember correctly. Ah those good old days.

On topic about asuras, vrish i just realised, bali was the king of daityas and grandson of prahlad and he was an extremely good king. Even ravan was a shiv bhakt.
And with only devas life would be so boring, besides they cheat a lot, on a lot of episodes, like amrit manthan for example.
