You are probably right. Just one thing: Ganga hasn't descended on Earth yet on the show. So the landscape of the subcontinent should be a bit different than what it is now (at least the regions affected by the Ganges).

P.S- thanks for the update minu di😊

But he is very much important - just about as important as Ravana was in causing Rama avatar. If it wasn't for him, the devas wouldn't have been obsessed w/ Shiva getting married, and we probably wouldn't have had this story.

In fact, them shifting the focus to Tarakasura now is good. In fact, even showing Tarakasura during the Sati episodes were good, b'cos they got to introduce him early. However, depicting him as someone who wanted Sati's death in order to save himself is overdoing it.

I agree he is very important in Shiva-Shakti mythology. As far as him wanting Sati's death, well what else would he do if you place him in that era? Once you take the decision to take him from his time and place him in the era before Sati died it is only natural that he would want her dead. It was annoying though to see him repeatedly send CGI asuras to kill Sati only to be defeated by Shiva. He was sort of becoming a joke. The creatives didn't really think that through. 😆

It's true that Ganga hadn't descended on earth, but neither had Sage Agastya drunk up the ocean. So that area was probably still in reasonably close proximity to the coastline (even allowing for the alteration in the coastlines), and so if her toe fell in Kalighat, it couldn't have been a desert.

Actually, even w/o the Ganga being there, I doubt that AryaVarta was desert land at the time. And Gandhara was a mountainous region like it is even now, and the Thar desert may or may not have existed.

On the issue of Tarakasura above, I think that he lived after the demise of Sati, and tormented the devas after he got that boon. But even if he lived during the time of Sati and got the boon that he'd only be killed by Shiva's son, I doubt that he'd try going after Sati. But I agree - what they showed in the part about him and Sati was poorly thought out.

Anyway, hope that he conquers Devalok, so that the devas get to regret their slight of Mahadev.

doesn't like the episode tday fr dragging tracks unnecessarily.

Thanks😊
After watchins all thrilling epi.last week, this week is going slow. Because this Shakti peetha's story is shown for the 1st time, so they are trying to develope & justify by showing why these centres of cosmic energy should be guarded well.

Tarakasur is here to stay for a long time. Without a powerful Asura, Mytho story can not move ahead. in fact thanks to them, we have many incarnations of Gods. So bear with him😆 Thanks😊

May be Tarakasur is afraid that, by joining all her body parts Sati will become alive once again then his life is in danger, that's why he doesn't want Shivji to reach near them.
Thogh this is not in the real story but had Tarakasur followed Shukracharya's advice of doing tarpan, then we wouldn't have got the Shakti peethas.
It's enough of seeing Shivji like this. We want our old Mahadev back.😊
Thanks😊

Asuras and Rakshashas were great. Without them, the devas would grow arrogant, and abuse their power. Great example was Indra and Ahilya, and in fact, after Indra was defeated by Meghnad, someone - Brahma or Brihaspati - is said to have explained to him that his defeat @ the hands of the rakshashas happened b'cos of what he did to Ahalya.

Besides, not all asuras and rakshashas were evil. Tarakasura was a tyrant, but I'll say that the devas all deserved it given what they did to Shiva.

On a different note, the guy who plays Tarakasura is the same tribal chief Ahirya in CGM who heroically died protecting CGM. Which is why my liking for him hasn't ended, even though he's an asura now. And his assistant Chakri is none other than our Paundrak from DBSK 😆 and Chunnar from JSK, so it would be funny if Chakri got to battle Narayan here as well 😆

Thanks for answering my Q, it does look like brain, because heart was fallen on Gabbar, it is a mountain in Gujarat.
As Paundrak he looked like a cartoon, here with Tarakasur he will stay for a long time.
Asuras know they are not as strong as Devas, so they try to get power by doing penance. At least they work hard. Devas are hardly seen doing penance, except Shivji & Vishnuji, sometimes Indra.
Sati had told at the yagya time, all the Devatas present here will have to pay for their act of being a silent viewer. So this will be their punishment.
