He knew it because everybody including him, were present in the living room when the sms came.. besides, i watched the repeat telecast & I observed Shyam's expressions very carefully.. I don't think he is behind the kidnaping.. he looked pretty surprised when he came to kow that Arnab has not reached London.. but, mayb he suspects someone or mayb overheard someone's conversation, so most probably went from the room to talk to that person & unknowingly told him that the family has come to know that Arnab has not reached London.. & the rest is what we saw 2day..

yes, I agree, everyone knows abt that sms on khushi's mobile. But on the other hand the way shyam slipped out of the room when Aakash was abt to call the police, it was obvious that they are making shyam look fishy. So its possible that there is a twist and its not Shyam but someone else... anyways, whoever it is, I can't see Arnav so helpless :( He is the macho man, nobody can torture my Arnav
