Hmm..who moved my cheese huh...have to say what a cheesy comparision (i loved that book too 😆)...but hey i come here to be totally unreasonable...i watch this show to escape reality..practicality...this is my 20 minutes of madness...gosh now i'll have to use logic here too..change happens..philosophically accept it..its good...😭...no...i dont want to be real or practical here...its like snatching a popsicle out of a hot and thirsty child's hand...bwah...bwah...😆

Those three words finally uttered by the very person who doesn't believe in it...we were all waiting for that for dunno how long ...and when it did happen...I felt not even an aorta of excitement...will wait until the actual scene is shown..but him saying those words thru phone and looking from his state either in captivity or remorse is like pouring ice cold water on ur fantasy.Do they really wanna rush thru the confession part too...when they could drag the endless 0OTT and other stuffs...why not give some time for this main focal point???????I am very disappointed ..


And regarding BS interview...if the aim was to pacify his IPK fans...it was a huge letdown...He said ...any body can play ASR...and I was like ouch!!!!! that did hurt and I am 😕

Indi he did not start off that well in the initial episodes and only later as he grew into the skin of the character that he started performing I also have a strange feeling that he is also a directors actor so probably he did get his ideas from there but no taking away from him the credit of making the role of ASR his. swathi, you are absolutely right, he does seem to be a director's actor, i have the same feeling too. i didn't find him this madly attractive in any of his previous shows. "hmm nice looking boy, " i thought, "lopsided grin," but that was it. didn't keep me glued to the tv. despite the heavy romance and much heartfelt dialogue on deep love.
i recall he did say how tough it was for him to do asr initially, and of differences of opinion with the director, but he came through. yes, direction was key. as was his ability to find the right nuance and tone. and i think he has learnt a tremendous lot in these months.

it's always easy to do something you're familiar with, stay in your comfort zone. it's when you step out that the real fun begins.

since end february, had a sense something was going wrong at a fundamental level. the writing just didn't add up. sadly, my addiction to the candy called khushi-asr chemistry kept me here. my gut feel is this is a ph problem that's gone haywire. otherwise the leave/leaving of one actor would have been handled with much more sense.

barun, i feel, has the potential to be a marvelous and true actor, so does sanaya. it's been a treat watching them. maybe this whole thing will be good for all of us in the end.

i joined the forum just a couple of months back and it has been an energetic traipse of discovery. i am addicted to the opinions thoughts chatter humour writing and all those takes on everything ipkknd.

and these days i too find the forum more interesting than the only hindi soap i've ever watched regularly.

moi not at all a tv watcher. but somehow as age catches up, need to hear and see things indian goes up. so tv is on the moment one's back, surfing through the 5 indian channels i now have hehe. pure bg noise and splashes of colour, little delves into extreme melodrama, but no serious following or can't go anywhere now because "serial aa raha hai."

till mid october last year. ufff.

yeah, that's right, there's this feeling of method acting in barun-asr that just pulls me right in. rabba ves nice. but some really ordinary, everyday things often rivetting. the way he takes off his waistcoat in anger and flings it anywhere, or buttons on his jacket, or yells at aman (that character is a treat to imagine, thanks cv's). barun has the beginnings of a great actor, hope this flurry of strange interviews and excessive/unnecessary media attention doesn't ruin it before it even started.

love sanaya irani too. has something of the great actresses (yeah when women were not afraid to be women) about her; a nargis, a meena kumari, a waheeda, an audrey hepburn, a suchitra sen; i write this only because i truly sense this. again wonderful potential. and that beautiful voice with that quality of flow. lovely.

i have had so much fun since october, feel a bit sad that might end soon.

but as swathi pointed out so well, got to keep looking at the cheese and adapt to change.

the only good news: my barun mania seems to be abating a bit. aw to let go of such a perfect fantasy... ok ok, i'll be grown up about it. here's to looking at the cheese!!!

Thanks for writing back. Agree age and distance from roots changes things.. Love the sound of Hindi, watching rituals that seemed well ritualistic when younger and family bonding seems infinitely sweet:)
The addiction to IPK is strange and hopefully the makers will justify it with better tracks
About the bullet points, :) yes true but it really seems to have messed up my ability to write

And you are so right, ASR and Khushi tiny gestures and body language is so powerful in developing the characters for us.. Such a pleasant change from my expectation of over the top cinema
