Err am I the only one who found the promo truly bizarre and testing my sensibility? The forum is filled rife with speculations from him hiding hurting nursing to torturing himself with grief. This is not how I imagined for even one second how ASR would end up behaving - an emotional coward skulking in some remote room disheveled unkempt and guilt ridden without having the guts or gumption to own his mistakes and errors in judgment nor having the decency to look the person(s) straight in the eye and say sorry.
No matter what his character flaws/ defects he has never been portrayed as someone who is not capable of facing adversity in the face of danger and has always taken immediate action to counter act the situation. That has always been his trade mark- to take the bull by the horns and fight it out come what may. This St Arnav martyrdom track licking his wounds in private seems in total contrast to that and it really takes away from his intrinsic self. It reflects his own personality in a rather shoddy light and that I think this is something even his most ardent critic would find hard to accept.
Again if I have to go the by assumptions and presumptions that this must be his way of repenting after knowing the truth then alas I am afraid he has left his brain once more somewhere for if after knowing the real facts about Shyam and now completely aware of the kind of sinister menace he poses to his entire family, the idea that he has knowingly left his pregnant sister at the mercy of a monster, abandoned his wife leaving her a defenseless prey and in even more danger highly vulnerable to the lustful moves of this obsessed hunter and exposing his entire family including his aunt uncle grandmother cousin sister in law , her side of the family not to mention his business and wealth leaving them all completely unprotected to a clear and present danger against a psychopath just does not sit well with me.
CV's don't play me for a fool I am no maturing adult or loony fanatic ready to be placated for my whimper with a tiny scrap of a highly questionable couple of words and scenes. I far prefer a kidnap drama to this rubbish and saying I Love You just makes it worse. If it is ploy by the PH to send out a message that all is well with cast and crew well then it could have been done with less melodrama and more bite without diluting the essence of the character. I can understand the need to accommodate certain commitments of the cast members but to ingloriously reduce a character in stark contrast to what they earlier were supposed to stand for does them great disservice and injustice not to mention taking the viewers for being imbeciles ready to accept any silly idea being thrown at then. They did it to one actor and are now returning the favor to the other.
.When I signed on to watch this serial 250 episodes back it was for the story and the 2 characters. I really did not know who the actors but only found their chemistry was amazing and added to the element of this 'different' love story. Today at the halfway mark I find myself feeling very let down, not because the cast members have decided to explore fresher pastures but that I may be going to be left shortchanged without a proper answer to all the situations and questions that were opened during the course of the last few months. An actor has every right to seek to capitalize when an opportunity presents itself especially in today's 15 seconds of fame world but what galls me is that I and I am sure thousands like me who watched this show for a story am suddenly left feeling very cheated because of the uncertainty of the future tracks. I am sure none of us ever imagine that the MU would get solved in this inane way or confessions of love in this rather peculiar way
Some of the best American Soap dramas always resorted to a dramatic shootout /massacre/ inferno in the season finales where every actor involved with the series was present and no one's personality no matter how popular was allowed to supersede the story line and every body faced the prospect of an exit and they carried on successfully to the next season. Closer home the Second Hand me down serial has weathered very successfully the exit of both their leads a huge leap in generations and addition of new players and added to the TRP figures.
So CV's do let me know how you are planning on carrying this story forward. Are you planning on changing the script story and plots to suit the actors or will you be sticking to the original thought process with a minor hiccup here and there? I am now faced with the prospect that after having spent quite a number of months hoping the story loops would be closed in a particular way, but thanks to the lack of foresight, planning and wisdom on the part of the PH, will be forced to see a track that maybe completely an anathema to my hopes of happy closures. So your input would be much appreciated and help me reach an informed decision whether to continue, randomly check or plain quit watching.
Finally the question that I would like to ask is
Are shows that are based purely on the principle of the story better at coping with sudden changes, absence and exits of actors as opposed to those based purely upon the personality of the leads which creates a void if there is a sudden departure? Would IPKKND have reached even bigger heights if a strong story track had been adhered to and not been diluted by the cult of personality?
Looking forward to your replies and please do not misconstrue this as some whatever post but more an anguished reflection of a cheated viewer.😊
