Today's episode was full of emotions. We witnessed anger, fear, shame, pain, anxiety, you name it. In a very twisted way I felt that focus was still on Kunal, Siddhi hardly said anything.
Kunal was trying his best to control the situation and people, but it was just too overwhelming for him. First he tries to console his parents, but not entirely successful. the Sudhanshu walks in blames entire family, but specially Kunal. Not just for Guarav, but also for Raveena and his rape case. (What's with everyone trying to remind rape case, no other attack left for Kunal?) Then Vikram walks in and asks Kunal to step aside saying what would he do? (a bit rude but still understandable) At last Gaurav challenges Kunal to take care of house-hold as he did.
Kunal had very little to say and I completely understand. He asked Shudhansu and Vikram to clam down, but they didn't; no one can.
Later Kunal declares Seema is not leaving the house, but again it was not possible unless Seema also agrees. Best part was Kunal taking financial responsibilities of kids.
for the most part, Kunal was silent. This silence is absolutely appropriate. What could Kunal have said that can make things better. NOTHING. Damage is done, now the only way Kunal can show his power and brilliance is by actions in future. Only way to prove everyone wrong (Gaurav, Shudhansu and may be Vikram) is to fulfill his responsibilities. Yes he had to step in and take part in the conversation to stop the blame, but it was very limited. Really Kunal was in really really bad condition. He had to remain silent, yet strong and speak very carefully.
Now many people are upset about Kunal yelling at his boss. Well first of all, Kunal took enough crap from everyone today, on top of stressful environment of the house. Then his boss comes in demands his time and energy. First Kunal pleaded for leniency given current situation. But his boss has audacity to threaten him, i can see Kunal having enough and giving people their business. Kunal is not the person who takes orders to start with, and someone threatens him about job/money while his family is in major crisis, yes he was right for yelling at his boss.
Many have said what about professionalism or what about the case. Couldn't Kunal have explained his boss what was happening? Well How many people are comfortable telling their NEW boss or anyone that his/her brother is a damn cheater. I defiantly would have very very hard time. Second the case, I believe the case would be just too emotional for Kunal. it is a divorce case where husband is involved in EMA, just like his brother. Don' you think it is going to have an impact on the way Kunal might handle the case.
Unfortunately my family went through similar situation few years ago. While we were at the same stage Chopras are right now, one of our family member suffered heart attack at the work due to stress of EMA issue. That person worked in very low stress environment. Job required no great cognitive capacity, but stress of sister's house was too much for him to bare. Even though I was very young then, I have seen the pain, the stress and how long it looms over the family. It is not good idea to work under such stress. Fighting a divorce case in courtroom itself is very stressful work, regardless of what is happening in your life. I highly value professionalism, but imagine if family stress results in poor conviction of case. Do we want person just doing the work for the sake of work or actually fulfill duties of job. Yes the show must go on, but everyone needs a break. I believe professionals should be aware of their breaking point and once they realize it, it's better to step aside then move forward with great risk.
Kunal was in very emotional state today and I think his behavior was appropriate. Again my analysis is based on my unfortunate personal experience, but other may beg to differ. As per where the show might be heading, I prefer to wait and watch.
