Which In-laws😉 just kidding..
Scindias, yes, for them this marriage was from start, more social pride than their son's future. As they never tried to understand why he doesn't want to marry and when he got married they felt its for his needs. They never connected themselves to the emotions of Yash and Aarti during marriage when they went through each process. Even Khanna's could understand the pain Aarti and Yash were going through when they were asked to erase their past with future.
@Veena: Agree. For Sr. Scindias, emotional quotient never figured in this entire PV scenario. For them it was always a kind of business deal and a medium to enhance their stature in society. The contract fell through with the so-called misbehavior of Aarti due to which their son dared to defy them. It was all cut and dry. Unfortunately, they were not privy to what happened in their son's bedroom and during the whole kidnapping ordeal, so they have no idea about their son's feelings and his emotional connect. They are acting purely on assumptions and forget that if you jump to conclusions before having all the facts, you could easily make a fool of yourself.
