Arjun was the one who first realized what Purvi is to him. The pull, the force, magnitude made his comfort zone suffocating when his heart yearned for the one who had left an impression that was to last a lifetime. It was not until Purvi pushed him away did he really put a finger to his emotions... its then that he realized he was in love with her... and he did what needed to be done... he stepped forward to possess her.
Purvi however, had no such liberty. Her mind had been clogged by influences around her.
1. To reunite her aai-baba
2. Broken relation with vinay
3. Her aaji's strong reaction over the MMS fiasco
All her life, she has wished for reuniting her aai-baba. She is aware of the fact that she's an adopted child. so she always very conscious... She loves Archana, no doubt. But i see there is this desire to do something for the woman who gave her so much love. "Mujh jaisi anath ko itna pyar diya" have't we heard this line more than once? So the constant pressure is deep built inside her of not letting her aai down ever. Now in that scenario she always have too much to carry on her shoulders.
When Arjun confessed, everything came to fore and she jumped back in her shell... denied vehemently which her heart knew was only true... but then Arjun left and she knew what she had turned away from. And so momentarily she turned away from everything that bounded her and ran to stop him. There we saw a girl who had left all the burdens of life behind to embrace happiness that welcomed her. And so when the next day they went to thank God... she said this time... for the first time in her life she asked something for herself... the only time she placed herself ahead of her family! But the protective shell she had rested in for 18 long yrs can't be shed in a day right?
Then came the engagement... the only thing she asked for herself... her love was claimed by her sister in front of everyone.
Had it been someone else, she would have been difficult but might have relented giving Arjun a chance to speak but here it was her sister, daughter of her aai... the facts laid in front portrayed Arjun in a wrong light. Her practical mind didn't take long to access the cost her sister, her aai and her family would pay. The dream that she had nurtured of seeing her aai-baba together, the cost that dream would pay! And she was shook! It became a question of hurting one you considered your own kin! And that was unacceptable to everything that made Purvi what she was.
And when did she get time to loose her inhibitions, her guarded self with Arjun completely?? It was like a drizzle that was consumed instantly by the parched earth... but before it could be turned to a blissful monsoon that would have blossomed the earth, it was like over as far as she could see.
She felt betrayed, hurt and wounded with the engagement scenario. And the fact that her Aai hid that Teju was her daughter too left an unpleasant scenario. She can't go and tell her aai wat has really shook her existence instead she only complained why was she left in dark. The magnitude of her pain is deeper than what meets the eye. For only a portion is visible on the surface... there is a storm that's hidden in her depth... the storm that she is refusing to confide about. So isn't it obvious that her deep-rooted pain comes from the centre of her heart and not just that Archana didn't confide in her. She's using that to hide the bigger pain that is consuming her, seeking comfort that only one person can offer yet she cant turn to him. The pain in her eyes yesterday spoke just that when "Arjun" once again became "Arjun Sir"
I don't blame Arjun either. Suppose he would have stood right in front of everyone and denied to get engaged to Ovi coz he was in love with Purvi... I really don't think Purvi would have cut him a slack then... for that would have brought embarrassment and pain to her family... And i don't think Purvi would forgive anyone who would bring tears in her aai's eyes.
And now she can't think of defying her sister's love to claim Arjun for herself. Her reactions and her actions are mellowed, the way she's trained to... the way she has seen her aai doing it for years... i don't really think that we can blame her or hold anything against her.
