Ppl, a prologue to a story haunting me since two days.
ABANDONED EYES
PROLOGUE
He found his family seated in the living room, all but two, a discussion in progress. The voices hushed, the minute he turned up.
His eyes sweeping the room for a pair of familiar wide brown eyes.
"Di, where is Khushi?"
The eyes had haunted him the past twelve days he had been away. Separation from her had not been the key to calm after all. His heart disregarding his brain, the need to see her overpowering his senses, he had cut his trip short.
The silence that followed his question was tangible, making his heart beat erratically.
He strode to his room, need to feel her overpowering every sense.
Something seemed amiss, the silence in house, like she was not there. Something was not right, and it was with her.
She lay on the bed a pale corpse, abandoned eyes staring into nothing, reflecting the coldness of the room, the emptiness in her life. An IV drip connected to her pale, thin white hand.
