TD ending on 17th August!!!!!!!

ZEE TV is making every effort to retain the number two position in India despite stiff competition from Sony Entertainment Television Asia and STAR One.

The channel has had a turn around in fortunes recently with flagship shows 'Saat Phere', 'Kasamh Se', 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa', 'Jab Love Hua' and 'Shabaash India' hitting bulls eye. On the contrary shows from rival Sony Entertainment Television Asia have struggled to find a place in India's Top 100 most viewed shows recently.

ZEE TV is fast axing underperforming shows to keep viewers glued to its channel. In another change to spruce up its schedule, ZEE TV's current longest running soap 'Tumhari Disha' is facing the chop to make way for a new drama.

The final episode of 'Tumhari Disha' will be screened on Thursday 17th August at 21:30. The programme has recently faced criticism from viewers after its lead protagonist Chhavi Mittal who played 'Disha' was shown dead when the drama leaped twenty years into the future. In actual fact, Mittal opted out of the soap as she was unhappy with producers for the leap.

'Tumhari Disha' will be replaced with new soap 'Dulhan Banoo Mein Teri'. Details of the new soap are sketchy. It will air Monday - Friday at 21:30.

ZEE TV has also confirmed that new series' of hot properties 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Challenge' and 'Cinestars Ki Khoj' will be taken to the air in the autumn. As revealed last week, Sony is fighting back with the Indian version of international hit 'Big Brother' starting in November. STAR One on other hand will be launching the new series of its popular 'Nach Baliye' show in the same period. Viewers in the UK will also be able to view the new series when STAR One launches in the UK later this year.

I'm not suprised it is ending. 😕 A lot of the viewers switched off when the serial was being dragged with DK in the wheelchair and they never came back. Once viewers go then they hardily ever come back again no matter what makeovers, leaps, etc the makers think of... 😡 😡 The next mistake was to kill off Disha, never kill off a central character - she should have been replaced... 😡

Ashish Nayyar is a good actor for a newcomer and will improve further if he is given the chance.. 😉 Here's hoping we will see him again ..... 👏

I agree with you nikki that the viewers who have switched from a serial hardly comes back but I still think that now when they had already decided to take a leap and started with a new story, they should have atleast continued with it for some time and not end it at this point because story was picking up and many fans of two new characters Kaamna and Veer were attracted to the show and after sometime viewership might have increased may be not same as before but still enough to continue on a different time than 8 PM slot atleast that is what we have noticed here on the forum how fans of Kaamna and Veer have been bustling here after the leap.

Anyway I hope that we get to see Ashish very soon in some other roles of his choice.

Well all i can say is that it is the peoples gault whoever wanted a leap i mean what was th point in that if the leap was only going to last fror 2 months, Chavi was unhappy so was the viewers. It all comes to show that they should have listened to the viewers for not going ahead with that leap then we would all had a happy ending with Dishas presense everyone would have been happy.

thank god disha should ave been replaced not killed off the show did become pathetic in the end they could ave saved the show if they got an well respective actress like simran from astitva to play disha after the 25 year leap or something

😭 It's sad how TD is ending.. it was such a popular show. I agree that it has to end one day and it was boring time to time..

I have a question to ask.
Is TD ending on 17th August in India or some other country? because i live in Canada and i'm not sure.
Can someone tell me?!
