Pratigya, Yeh Rishta to end?
the television industry is abuzz with news that Star Plus is planning major changes in their programming strategy, and is making way for new shows. It will result in two top running shows ' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) and Pratigya ' going off air post IPL. The channel follows the practice of ending shows on a high note rather than dragging them on endlessly, which also happened in the case of Sasuraal Genda Phool that ended on Saturday.
Commenting on the same, Rajan Shahi, producer of YRKKH, quips, "Thanks for telling me. This is news to me as I have no word from the channel about the show going off air." Meanwhile, ask Pratigya's producer Pearl Grey, if her show will soon end, and she says, "I have not heard anything of this sort from the channel. I can't comment on the rumours."
She has a new show in the pipeline starring Aamna Sharif, which is based on a love story between an older woman and a young guy. Will her new show replace Pratigya? "We submitted the pilot recently and are waiting for a revert from the channel regarding the new show. I have no clue about the time slot." The channel spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
