What was so special about Kahani?

I like Vidya, and I think she is a great actress. And I have said many times that I am a fan of hers after watching The dirty picture. But this has nothing to do with her. THis has to do with the hype around Kahani.

The Dirty Picture was over hyped... just a vulgar film! Kahaani was boring... i fell asleep watching it!

movie was not overrate at all ... its amazing

reasons can be many u didnt like this movie ...may be bcz as u watched it very late and u almost knew everything abt the movie so that's why found it boring

I like Vidya performance better in Kahaani than "TDP" and TDP is a overrated movie anyways Kahaani is much better.

Well Beboholic, going by what I've gathered to be your taste in films, I don't think Kahaani was something you would like. I don't mean this as an offensive comment; I just don't think Kahaani is your type of movie, going by that you didn't much like Dil Se, Kaminey, Omakra etc either, and would rather watch a JWM instead (not that there's anything wrong with it of course).

Anyway, IMO, Kahaani was very well-acted (there was no artificial notes in any of the actor's performance, they were all so natural and convincing), well-shot (the cinematographer brought the condition of the city to life), and well-made (the editing was perfect, and how all the technical categories were used to create the perfect cinematic experience). I can't think of many flaws with the movie. Can't go on listing all the pros now, due to time constrain, but there are many of them, and I would elaborate on them later. Definitely the second best film I've seen this year (just after A Separation).

P.S. You talk of entertainment. But entertainment is subjective. You didn't find it entertaining; others did (precisely why it earned so much).

The first part was entertaining but the second half was supposed to be the emotional part.

Beboholic, I respect your opinion. Yes, I agree that the film lacked entertainment value. Vidya was amazing and I found the role more challenging than Paa and No One Killed Jessica. It is better than most of the crap actresses are doing these days. The Dirty Picture was much better though. Even my American friend loves Vidya Balan and says she is one of those few that can act and look good! 😊

I think the hype got to you. The same happens to me when I see a hit/hyped movie after most of the world has seen it. I go with so much expectation and end up disappointed. The same happenned to me for BBB.

I like the movie, but it was not exceptional..The best movie so far is Paan Omar Singh for sure.

Not only, TDP, even Rock star is overrated. at least TDP is avg as a movie. what stand out is, Ranbeer's and Vidya's amazing performances..
