For her she will not even think that Shyaam is the reason for Bauji's paralysis right???This is only known by Bauji and Shyaam and that is why I said - Key is Shyaam. Now, ASR might stop her or not how can I say... It will be the micro tracks ans that is PH's job... hai naa??? This will be Arnav's repentance and and when Khushi will learn the truth of Shyaam the cause of Bauji's illness, I guess then it will her repentance that she should have told ASR before hand... because then they both will connect the dots of Anji's accidents and HSyaam's involvement. That's what I feel. Now these are all speculations and nothing else.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode (surprisingly enough)! Was it superbly amazing!? Perhaps not. But what it did have were those small moments of brilliance through which the bigger picture was made apparent.
As a whole, it didn't hold much substance in terms of plot development, but through these small moments, much was revealed about whole characters and their families. A nice breather of an episode, where one can enjoy the unravelling of various characters, albeit in glimpse detail, which is an absolute delight to watch.
What I really enjoyed and appreciated about last night's episode was the portrayal of contrasting lifestyles led by the Gupta and Raizada parivaar. The episode presented superb snapshots of daily antics in both households, and amidst it all captured the essence of both our lead characters.
For once, I was not annoyed by the seemingly OTT actions/reactions of Khushi's character. Rather, her motivation for creating such upheaval made a lot more sense in this episode than it had done in previous episodes. And I'm glad the CVs are giving her more monologues which support her reasoning, as oppose to delineating from it completely! I think we tend to forget, well, I certainly do, that Khushi is also grappling between mind and heart in her treatment of Arnav. And why shouldn't she? After all, it is Arnav who very calculatingly turned her world upside down, without so much of a single clarification.
Some claim her to be rather insensitive in her approach, whilst Arnav is painted as gloriously patient. Maybe her approach could be classed as somewhat insensitive, but I do think Arnav is it at much more of an advantage. Basking in his own ignorance, or rather his erroneous presumptions, gives him much more freedom to choose his battles carefully and to bide his time, striking only when the oil is hot. It is his misjudgement of character which showcases him to be equally if not more insensitive. Even before the MU track, I always felt the pangs of Arnav's remarks much more than Khushi's random outbursts. I felt it again when he commented on her "cheap tricks/low status". And boy can he pull off the bitterness! It is his erroneous knowledge of Khushi that gives him the upper hand in his own game, allowing him to plan out each of his moves, knowing the impact it will have of Khushi. On the other hand, Khushi being unaware of the real cause behind Arnav's anger and hatred, forces her to attack aimlessly, pestering Arnav in anyway possible, if only to get some sort of reaction from him, bringing her closer to the truth. She hasn't quite figured him out, only because he's careful not to give her that chance. Though even that seems to be changing!
Compared to Arnav, Khushi's remarks and actions are far less harmful. Even her revenge tactics highlight her innocence. In response to Arnav's brute comment about her lowly status, what does she do? She promises to take him "down" with her, bringing him back to earth, using her rights as a wife. I loved it. If there's one thing that throws Arnav off course his own game, then that is facing the unpredictable. And I just love how Khushi invites him into the organised chaos of the Gupta household. And I seriously cannot praise Barun enough ' the moment he stepped foot into Khushi's home, each shot captured his expressions of distant civility, unpreparedness, confusion, loss of words, resolve and trepidation of facing the unknown; as he so clearly expressed "kaha akar phas gaya".
By bringing Arnav out of his comfort zone, only then will Khushi have a fair chance at playing the game. The long shot of Arnav at the head of the Gupta table, isolated from the comforts of his own home, was a nice way of capturing the turning of tables ' the Gupta family have now taken up their positions on the battlefield. Lol, I loved the entrance shot of Khushi, Buaji and Garima, reminded me of the comic take of the three witches in Macbeth, ooh the irony. It was also nice to see Shashi alongside Arnav, hopefully highlighting the significance of his future role in supporting his son-in-law through turbulent times.
The lively and jovial atmosphere of the Gupta household was a sight to behold ' and how I have missed it! I'm so glad to see it return. And how apt was Buaji's statement about the thirsty going to the well, if the well can't come to him/her. It is Khushi who led Arnav to this well, and perhaps it is the love and affection of the Gupta family that will quench his thirst for love. Not to say that his own family to not love him, but living with the Gupta's, maybe he will be able to experience a different form of love, one which allows him to open up and see that the conditions of love don't necessarily have to be binding or restrictive. I can't wait to see how their affections will impact on his character!
What was also great about the episode is how Arnav's inner turmoil was reflected in the outer turmoil of Khushi's household. How great was it to see Khushi feel right at home again, amidst all the chaos. It was a nice reminder of the kind of life she used to lead before marrying Arnav. Free and unpretentious; the kind of life that is alien to Arnav, and which may well bring him out of the darkness
Thanks to those of you who explained the significance of rangoli!! Another great moment which emphasised the traits of both characters; Regardless of the motivation behind Khushi's decision to bring Arnav to her home, and whether or not she was being sincere, we do see Arnav and Khushi show fleeting moments of sincerity which reminds us of their love for one another, whether or not they choose to admit it. It is these love filled moments that enables me to overlook the OTT antics of Khushi, so long as the battle between mind and heart translates well onto screen! Unfortunately, that hasn't always been the case. But during the rangoli scene, I loved how Khushi asserted her authority over Arnav, by guiding him to the safe haven of her home, on her terms and on her footing! Sanaya did well with her expressions here, victorious and calculating the one moment, and warm and inviting the next. She clearly enjoys watching Arnav dance to her tunes, keeping him wrapped around her little finger, but her willingness to guide him through the chaos (through the intricate design of the rangoli) shows that Arnav is clearly not the enemy or the evil that needs to be thwarted. Her acceptance of him was beautifully shown when she reached out her hand and pulled him in, in that final step. Just like the time he pulled her in during the tug of war scene on the steps. It also brilliantly highlights Arnav's dependence on Khushi when facing the unknown.
Clearly, Arnav leads his life by the rules, the very foundations which are being dangerously shaken by all those around him, be it Khushi and her family or his own. By being thrown into the anarchy of the Gupta household, it is clear that Arnav is far less prepared in facing the real world than Khushi is. And I'm hoping that it is Khushi that will prove to be that pillar of support when he finds himself crashing. For what must come up, must surely come down. Khushi has already proven countless times that she is able to hold her own, be it during the wedding scene, the heer ranjha scene or the time when Payal and Akaash came together ' through all those times, it is Khushi that Arnav looked towards for guidance. He's far to used to living a life where everything is within his reach, an organised routine which only he himself is in control of. So naturally, entering a relationship in which there are NO RULES as the great Manorma comically warns him; will be quite a hurdle to jump over. After all, his life without Khushi is just like the food he's served ' bland, dry and unsatisfying.
Needless to say, each time we've seen Arnav devour Khushi's food, be it her jalebi, tiffin food, ladoo; his satisfaction stems from enjoying the simple pleasures in life. He just needs Khushi to spice it up for him! (as cheesy as it sounds!)
Out the two leads, I do think Barun is the more nuanced actor in terms of expressions and execution of dialogue, that's not to say that Sanaya is any less talented, but there's a naturalness to Arnav's character which Sanaya has not yet quite nailed, at least not consistently. It's still hit and miss I feel. But I'm sure she'll pull through!
Wow ' sorry for the rant, I kind of just rolled with it today. Probably because I'm still on Easter break!!
Thanks for the post! x
