What sheer madness! Arjun driving through the pouring rain, resolute and dogged in his determination to declare his love to Purvi, come what may. 😆
His threat to her that he could care less if Aaji woke up or the whole mohalla, his flashing of the hazard lights, his grabbing her by the arm, quieting her tirade by shushing her with his finger, he behaved like a mad man and reminded me of this passage from A Midsummer's Night Dream:Lovers and madmen have such seething brains,Such shaping fantasies, that apprehendMore than cool reason ever comprehends. The lunatic, the lover, and the poetAre of imagination all compact. One sees more devils than vast hell can hold'That is the madman. The lover, all as frantic,Sees Helen's beauty in a brow of Egypt. It would be nice to see Arjun stay as resolute if/when Purvi foolishly wants to sacrifice their love for Ovi's sake. Even if she has misgivings, I hope he remains madly in love with her to refuse to go ahead with his engagement to Ovi (unlike Mavav in the Shravani situation). Hope Arjun has guts enough and love enough to tell Purvi that he would rather remain a bachelor than marry anyone other than Purvi and also that Purvi has no right over him if she denies his love to ever ask him to marry someone else in her stead. On the flip side, hope Purvi is smart enough, unlike Archana again in the Shravani/Sachin situation, to know that Arjun marrying Ovi will only make Arjun miserable and Ovi miserable in the long run. Short term sadness is better than long term anguish and heartbreak for all 3 of them.

What an absolutely lovely post! And the cherry on the cake was the Shakespeare quotation, and in full too. One often thinks only of the first 5 lines, and it was so good to have the whole.
As for Arjun, I can only repeat what I posted a couple of days ago, responding to purethought' s prediction for ArVi.
1) Arjun will not go ahead with his engagement to Ovi, irrespective of what he thinks Purvi will or will not do. He agreed to marry Ovi largely out of compulsion at a time when he was not emotionally involved with anyone. Now it is quite different; he loves a girl and he will NOT tie himself up in a loveless relationship that will only hurt both parties. He does not belong to the 'self-sacrificing' Manav-Archana generation, not that any of their "sacrifices" ever made any sense or even worked. Remember that he calls Ovi to tell her he is in love with another girl at a point when he has NO idea how to win Purvi over. For him, the fact of his now loving someone else will be an definitive bar to marriage with Ovi.
2) He has an example in his own family of a very happy love marriage, and that is what he will fight for. He is not a quitter, as we have seen in the last 2 weeks, and he will not give up on Purvi, not even if she responds with a definite 'no'. Which, incidentally, is unlikely to happen.
If you will bear with me for repeating something else I had mentioned in a different context, there is this endless worry in the forum about an ArVi romance and hopes that it will be a very beautiful one. of course they are the current romantic couple, as the intro to every episode makes clear, but I have my reservations about this ' great undying romance' happening. Sometimes I doubt if Purvi is at all capable of the kind of love Arjun has for her - very deep and almost obsessive, the kind of love that would count the world well lost for the loved one. By now, as we can all see, Arjun is prepared to jettison anything when it comes to Purvi.
By contrast, Purvi is too conventional and stilted, and her heart never wins over her head, or rather the straitjacket she has encased herself in. I cannot forget the way she responds when he stands at her door with the most pathetic expression on his face. Any girl with an iota of sense would have known that if he had really been a Casanova, he would never have tried to apologise or explain to her, but would have shrugged her off in a second.
Purvi, as the character has been developed till now, would any day throw over anything to please her mother and the rest of her 'family'. Her adoring uncritical attitude towards Manav, just because he is her 'baba', is a case in point, and I completely agreed with what Sulochana had to say about that: that Manav a good man but not a good husband. So, even if she decides to accept Arjun (and a nice windfall that will be for her), I doubt if she will be able to give him even a fraction of the love he has for her.
Of course the writers can change anything they please whenever they please, and maybe Purvi will also grow to match Arjun's intensity, and become a 'deewanee', to use that most evocative term that is redolent of the love of Meera and Radha for Lord Krishna. Rithwik's latest FB post seems to indicate this kind of shift.
But right now it is Ovi who really loves Arjun with a tenacity that matches his own for Purvi. Alas, she is going to get nowhere. As JFK once said, who told you that life is fair?
I hope I am not going to be lynched by many of you for uttering such heresies!
Shyamala B.Cowsik
Naava, totally agree with you, Purvi is already in love with Arjun or half way there and he knows it so I do not think there will be a problem with her realizing it sooner rather than later.
@redI think you are right Shyamala about Puvi's stiffness and frigidity. It will be interesting to see how the writers develop this. It's true that any girl's heart should have melted at that look on Arjun's face that day. I hope they soften her. However,in Puvi's favor she has seen and recognized the complexity of Arjun's personality and has seen and pondered a side of him that has depth and tenderness, something she saw in him more than once - being tender regarding others - not about her at all..@purple I know you said "tenacity" for Ovi's love and it's true she is tenacious ...but her love is immature infatuation and it was never reciprocated by Arjun. Ovi's recognition of Arjun's tenderness would only be of interest to her i think, if it was all about her...how Arjun might feel towards her. She doesn't have much depth.@green...ha! true. and i am sure JFK was not the first nor the last to say that.😛
