EMA and the TRP connection

Why does the average indian woman (considering that most of our serial watchers are women) love to see another woman suffer bcoz of an extra marital affair ?? I mean Kya hua was jus abt average till the other week and now its peaked with the peaking of Pradeep-Anushka EMA ...even BV gained huge numbers with the the J-G-A triangle , not to mention the success of serials like saas and astitva which had EMAs as their major sub-plots ...so wats the connection with between EMA and TRPs, any thots ??

You know even though we dont support these things the cvs make it so that we are hooked onto watching because it creates tension drama excitement. We want to see how one responds how the other reacts. Its all about the drama. And most sensible people would take it as a serial and not get too emotional about it. And we watch serials for entertainment

All successful serials are not about EMA, and all shows about EMA don't do well. The TRPs have risen this week not because of the EMA (which had been going on for many weeks) but because Mona stood up for herself, however briefly.

I hardly watch serials and don't contribute towards TRP.
I just follow YMGGK on and off and I wasn't watching this show before but my mom told me about it and I watched it to see how the storyline would be handled i.e In a realistic mature way to empower women facing a similar predicament, in which case I might continue watching or a drama baazi style with loads of masala etc in which case I would drop it like a hot potato.

Saans and Astitava ek Prem Kahani. They were simply mindblowing. Classics.

BV and now Kya Hua are also exploring this never ending human drama in their own way. Both these serials have inlaws supporting the wronged woman against their own sons.
