Thanks savvy for giving me this idea for making a weekend post...Wasn't going to post today ...but your question is quite an interesting one...so thought will open a thread...

You asked...that back in January I was routing for Arhi marriage...and you were on the fence...How did I think at that time how the marriage plot will work out...

Well...Savvy...I can honestly say that no one was probably looking forward to the marriage plot as much as I was (OK...I shouldn't say no one...)...Let me rephrase...I was one of those people (very few of them were in the same boat, at the time)...who were really excited about the prospect of Arhi marriage...and were really really looking forward to it...

First of all...I knew that the marriage will be done to save Anj's marraige...there were plenty of hints about that...Di mein aap ke liye KUCH BHI kar sakta hoon...was the biggest one...and there were all the signs...and signals...the question was when...and I thought it had to be at the same time as Payash wedding...it just made sense...

So all that turned out to be the way I thought it would happen...

What I couldn't figure out for the life of me...was what will make Arnie react that way and take that action...So,I never imagined Shyamu hugging her and all...but I thought CVs had to put that in...for the shock value and make Arnie move...and I took it.

Then I expected a contract marriage...for the time it would take for Anj to have her baby...and that is how it turned out...although I still dont get the 6 month calculation...unless it took Anj 3 months to figure out she was pregnant.

Here is what I was looking forawrd to...which DID NOT happen after marriage...

I expected...Arnie to want to hate her...but physically be very very attracted to her now that she was in the same room...That part has not been shown ...There haven't been a few scenes here and there but thsi angle is far from playing out...This should have lead to very intense situations and a very attractive Khushi...instead what we have got is tent suites and Khosla ka Ghosla hair styled Khushi...so I don't think they are going there soon either...

I expected...Khushi to really value her marriage with Arnie...I expected her to fall in love with Arnie because ..even though he didn't say it and she knew something was bothering him...She couldn't help BUT fall in love with him.//...just liek the 4th promo.

I expected her and Payal to be very close at RM...and see more of that sibling bond...

I expected Arnie to be not able to resist falling in love with Khushi ...even though he held Khushi responsible for his sisters misfortune...

And yes...I expected Shyamu thruth to be out and Anj to react very badly to it...may be go in a shock or something...which would have been the misfortune...I expected Arnie to chuck Shyamu out of the house after learning about his truth...

What I did not anticipate was the MU to continue, Khushi to be dumbed down...Shyamu to sexually harrass Khushi...

What I did expect and it did work out to large extent:

Arnie not being able to help but fall in love with Khushi...and be conflicted like in teh 4th promo...

I expected Khushi to take care of Arnie...like a wife...althought perhaps not in an OTT way like Gopi Vahu...some of that happened...but I would have liked that without Khushi made out to be silly right before that...perhaps even conributing to his falling ill...

OK...so...thats what I thought...and marriage track delivered proximity but the not the story I was hoping for...What about you guys?

I agree right from December including the new year's sequence - the CV's were throwing many clues for the track of them getting married. When I saw the promo of their marriage I immediately thought of the brunt Khushi is going to face and the tough time she will have to decipher why/what happened?

I do not have much complaints from Arnie's POV, he is being shown as trying to hate her but cannot, so his track is ok. It is Khushi's track that has not progressed and here are my view points

She has asked him point blank the reason for the marriage(after the suhag raat), yelled at him, tried walking out (but was forced to come back because of Payash), tried her silly antics to get thrown out and nothing has worked. So now for the latest trick of "Swami". Here is where I think she is going to fall for him and realize her feelings because this time Arnav is going to play along.

As for her revealing to Payal, I was thinking it would not happen. The reason is from
the very beginning, she does feel like an outsider and bends over backwards to make
her family happy . This was evident right from the parking lot sequence when she
came back to celebrate Payal's birthday. She always puts her families happiness way over hers and masks her feelings being jovial/comical and I think this trait is in sync with what has happened after marriage.

What is the key is her discovering the love she has for Arnav. Once she does that the actions that will follow will lead her to her answers .. and this is where her character is not being developed.

As for Shyam's POV, for some reason she is not feeling threatened so far. Arnav for her is her topmost priority and not Shyam. Her last encounter with him in the green room has given me hope. She mentioned that she will slap him the next time he dares to touch her and I am hopeful that any such next encounter will really have her give it back to him.

I think there is a reason the letter is still not revealed and probably will be once she has a deeper gauge on her feelings? Phew... long post.

Thank you for posting this thread; I've been thinking quite a bit about the marriage track and now I have an outlet to vent my frustrations 😉

On second thoughts, I had better condense and edit and post the abridged version rather than my intended dissertation.

-First of all, no, I wasn't happy about the marriage track and was one of those who, until the promo was aired held on to the hope that it wasn't going to happen. I did recognize all the marriage signs, but still thought it wouldn't happen particularly after the terrace scene. Oh well, moving on...

-The six months clause made no sense -apparently it had made no sense to the CVs as well until they decided to add it on at the last minute. Was it to give the viewers some hope that the misunderstanding will end at some point rather than go on endlessly? 😆

Or maybe it was to give Khushi a reason to walk out? Khushi being Khushi wouldn't walk out of a marriage with Arnav if it hadn't been stipulated already, correct?

-With the promises of intensity and the imagination running wild at the idea of Arhi under the same roof behind locked doors, I started warming up to the track.

-Like everyone, I expected the intense physical attraction. These two have shown amazing chemistry while spitting out hateful words all through the months; can they blame us for raised expectations? I expected Arnav to almost lose control many many times and reign it in at the last moment -read Diwali times 43283972 give or take.

-I expected to see many Shyam - Arnav interactions and the changed equation there being immediately perceived by Khushi. I fully expected Khushi to figure out what had happened within the first two weeks. The mind boggles at the fact that it is now over two months and she doesn't have a clue. 😕

-Coming now to my biggest hope from the track. I didn't think there was a chance in hell that this idiotic misunderstanding would last more than a few days. I thought Arnav would immediately set about digging into Shyam's past to figure out he was the paying guest at the Guptas and Khushi was engaged to him, when and how Khushi ended the relationship. But wait, the track does not end here; I thought for sure a new obsession would begin to plague Arnav: the belief that Shyam had been Khushi's first love.

When Arnav had taunted Khushi about her fiance not being a rich man, she had shot back that her fiance had qualities that mattered to her -that she looked for in a man.

Khushi had been willing to forgo her self-respect and apologize to Arnav just to get her engagement ring back.

When she revealed that her engagement had ended, she said that she was heart-broken.

I really really thought this track would only be about Arnav realizing that Khushi had only loved him all along.

-All said and done, my biggest peeve with the track is that the heart is missing from most of the episodes. Where is the chemistry that we fell in love with? I get and appreciate the fact that we're supposed to look beneath and beyond what's being shown to us, but after 2 months of this nebulousness, I fear that the CVs don't have a plan at all.

Sush - like you I was a big proponent of Arhi marriage myself; it made sense. They needed to get her to RM; they had exhausted good excuses to bring her into RM; no more La training & Payal was there to help the family. Office track wasn't going to cut it, just like DS hasn't.

What hasn't worked for me

I will second Sush - the hug on the terrace. Downright demeaning to Khushi; no resistance😲 I did give an excuse for Khushi; she was a victim of sexual abuse and was too shocked to react. I still stand by that but I couldn't support the choice of words "chod dijiye Anjaliji ko". It was out of the blue & unlike Khushi!

ASR dumbed down - He hasn't done anything to find out what really is the truth! If Shyam acts; ASR reacts. This isn't working for me at all. If it was for a few days, it was ok but this has gone on way too long. If he was as worried for Anjali; he would have a background check on Shyamu. I am fine with the he could care less for Khushi thing but I am not ok with the inaction from ASR.

Where is the chemistry?

I can take the hate but for 2 people supposedly in love I see no love, even fleetingly. The no romance aspect isn't working for me. This is supposed to be a love story; but where is the love? Even if it was fleeting, I would take it but I don't see any! Two beautiful people in the same room but no action? For an intense story; just the eye locks isn't working. Trip, fall & catch overused & I think I can't stand it anymore. I am dead serious- rabba-ve needs to go. Way overdue...🥱

Khushi has been increasingly shown as an uncouth village belle. Lucknow isn't a village, the last time I checked. She wasn't this way when the show started.Yes, goat has to go & so should the ghosla...Snoring in the kitchen while standing, Seriously? Maybe if she was menopausal I could buy it...Very demeaning...🤢

Yes, the comedy is crass! I like the NK kind of comedy. Khushi was OTT at times but we saw a graceful Khushi too but now Khushi is just annoying as hell; if it weren't for Sushpective, I would have called it quits a long time ago!

I don't mind Khushi not wanting to take the marriage seriously coz she is forced, hurt...She has to keep her dignity even though she loves this man. No doormats or gopi bahu. For me, the Gopi bahu act was a new low...No offense to the other show but to a degree I didn't mind it. But Khushi tasting the food was really pushing it......That isn't the Khushi we know, she isn't insensitive even to the Rakshas! Remember the promo- kaash mein tumse nafrat kar paathi?" I expect them to maintain that but it has been compromised way too many times!

Khushi's egregious behavior with DS, Sethi bros were a turn off...The list goes on...In short the wedding track just wasn't handled well...Looked like a great idea but I really want Khushi & Arnie to get a break of sorts, a physical separation. Why? Coz I can't take this crap; they don't want to settle this MU, fine! They don't have a creative idea beyond settling the MU, that is fine too! Give us a separation or some tadap or some romance or something to hold on to till they decide what they want to do! No Gopi bahu or goatwa talk!

Arnie made a statement last week - "Kuch toh dhung ka karo". But can he help her do that? First, get her a new wardrobe, will ya? Tycoon, what tycoon? Image ka khayal hai but isn't his wife also his image? None of the Raizada's thought about a makeover for their bahu?😲 So why isn't she getting any new clothes? Maybe send her off to college where she can find a real friend; anything to show a progressive story not the goatwa...SP's Nayi soch...Nothing has worked since the marriage; it was a fantastic idea but very poorly executed...🤢

Long time😳...have not been on the forum the past couple of weeks.

Very interesting post...I am with you when you say that you were rooting for the marriage...I have always enjoyed the marriage of convenience/forced marriage M&B and historicals...IMHO they provided the best setting for dawning of love/realisation of the partner's true worth. Plus in the case of ArHi, it would have given them a chance of being together without the CV's having to twist the story into a pretzel...they were running out of excuses of Khushi being at RM.

IN terms of expectations, I had of course expected a lot of fireworks and was not disappointed there...and at the risk of being in a minority of one😃, can I just say that I am really enjoying this comic track? Arnav is doing what he does best...appear totally conflicted when it comes to Khushi...and Khushi, running true to her character, is not ready to give into her lot quietly. The narrative post marriage has been simple...Khushi tries finding out why he did what he did...but he does not oblige. Then she has no option but to want out...so she runs away. Again, he thwarts her plans cleverly and she is forced to return. So now she is trying to make him throw her out...by being obnoxiously sweet to him. The first couple of "Swami's" had me rotfl...😆

Both Sanaya and Barun have done these scenes so well...just the right amount of everything!

And...most of all guys...I expected Khushi to continue to look as beautiful as she looked before the marriage...Perhaps even more beautiful...

Never expected the A line tents and that ugly wad of hair on her head she is wearing now a days...

Never imagined someone was capable of making her look as she is looking now...

A Saturday post? You're absolutely determined to make sure no work happens on the weekend as well - right? 😆

I wasn't one of those who wanted a marriage track at all - figured the story would take a downhill turn when I saw that wedding promo. But I did expect that the decline would be gradual - not this careening toboggan ride to the bottom 😕

Here's what I would've done if I were in the CV's shoes -

The MU still happens, but Arnie accuses her point blank in the heat of the moment instead of going all caveman and silent on her

She's hurt and angry at his lack of trust in her

He forbids her from ever setting foot in RM again using her sister's marriage as the hammer ( if he's really trying to save Anj's marriage - this makes a lot more sense than marrying her and putting her within spitting distance of the snake 😲)

She's got too much pride and spine to plead with him - so takes him at his word, literally. She takes up another job that keeps long hours - allowing her to miss every occasion at RM.

They're both missing each other terribly.

He starts using that brain of his right away to investigate the snake, and the whole truth spills out within a matter of days

Now he has to make amends...but she won't let him, since he doubted her integrity

He uses Payal as an excuse to get her back into RM and woo her ASR style 😉

A battle of wits..and wills, begins! 😍 😍

I could go on and on and on...but this is how I would have played it out! 😕

Hey Sush and Spicegirls!! 😃 Yay for a weekend post!!

Really interesting post Sush and great question Savy!!

I wasn't expecting the wedding to happen so soon but then i guess that's what they needed to get the story moving forward!! My expectations were just about the same as your Sush. I really wanted that Arnav being attracted to Khushi and her looking oh so beautiful. Sometimes i think maybe they should just make her wear saris like the typical SP bahus. Maybe then we can get rid of that dreadful haristyle since it wont work well with the saris. and plus Sanaya always looks stunning in saris..(ahh Sari i keep thinking of u when i write saris😆) but i guess they only keep saris for special occasions in iss pyaar and prefer to torture us with dreadful anarkalis and birds nest hairstyles...

Anyway im really hoping that as this track moves on we can see more of the attraction growing, especially with the continuation of the Swami act, its bound to happen.

Also im still in hopes for a more proper marriage down the line with full dhoom dharaka and sangeet and fultu masti!! wonder if they will show it or not, but for more TRPs they definitely will ppl love that stuff!!😆

really don't know what else to add right now...im in my weekend lazy mode🥱

Jamba i love your scenario now that would have been a treat to watch rather then Snakewa making a keywa with a stolen soapwa...I would have loved ASR using Payal to get Khushi back in the house and wooing her😍 hai shattered dreams!

so wanted them to be married. I thought I would see Arnav falling in love with khushi despite his FB of the terrace scene. Thought to see their sweet banters not a one over Bathroom over 3 episodes. Much like the once we saw before the holi episodes where she loans money. Like where he waits for her to come to the room. Thought they would show something like she visiting her parents and he missing her. He is at work and she missing him and finding excuses to call him.

What we got instread he dropping her at mayka and in the middle of the road saying get out. She barging in office, making his employees smelling jalebies. Rather than falling in love both are busy beating the other in silly games. Most of all...lost Khushi in it all...they made her fall asleep standing up and snoring at the same time.. What is she? A horse? And don't even want to get started on OTT behavior.

Look wise we lost her too...I thought those suits before marriage was too chamkili...but she used to look prettier and younger with those. And this hair style is not working at all.

Things could have been sweeter and more instense instead we got silly comedy and now Payash romance infront of mamiji. Who scrabbles Love in front of MIL like Manu??

Traveling this weekend lets see if this Internet holds till I finish typing hence will keep it brief

I was not so much into the marriage but yes it had and still has a lot of openings.

Like you the one big thing I though I'd see is the physical attraction that the both had since day one. And not that I expected consummation but even the 3 times ARnie without his shirt and Khushi in her simple night suits has not invoked any response. Seems very fake and implausible.

Next the living together and the building of the love, trust and dependence on each other. It is not coming thru at all. The over the top tracks just killing the beauty that these two share. Missed oppertunity getting Khushi back inside to sleep or ARnie helping her with her business venture. Also the part of making up with her angry parents who disowned her could hav been done better than she just making up with them on holi all of a sudden.

Khushi doing wife stuff for ARnie . Taking charge maybe starting with the swami drama but eventually doing it on her free will.

ARnie having conflicting thoughts on how come his wife who seems so faithful could have an affair with my jija and eventually both doing something to protect Anji.

She can eventually walk out on him after 6 months after both being deeply in love with each other and he finding ways to get her back.

This is how I imagined it .alas we have an OTT Khushi with a blind ARnie. The show after marriage has been very wobbly to say the least.
