So I have noticed there are many perks while you write for serials. Creative's glamorize the show or characters to make it watchable. Sometimes they go overboard with it sometimes they get it right. The problem is that serials run for years so they try to make it as complex as possible. This could be one of the reasons why Viraj's illness tends to show not one but many symptoms. I am not justifying their mistakes but trying to find out where they go wrong. Anybody who watches serials would know why such things occur. Do we use it to our advantage when we dislike a particular character while we brush it off when we like that character. Are we sadistic or selfish by doing so?

P.S: I am not bashing anyone or nitpicking anything. I welcome everyone to share their views.

yes writers do stretch the complexity of a particular character as they have to run the show for a long time.
but still if the essence of the character is lost and people can no more relate to it then their creativity is of no use.
so same applies here, as they have mad viraaj's charater stuck to a particular point viewers except his fans are finding it hard to relate to him and thus find it boring to watch the similar actions done by him.

Whose fans? Trust me I am not a KB fan nor really a Viraj fan. Neither is Nakshatra.

I hope this show doesn't run for years.

They could've made this show different than what it is. For Viraj, they should have really researched and worked it all out. They didn't. Okay one or two more diagnosis added in is fine. But it's like they threw the whole kitchen sink at the character. But when it comes to dealing with Mental illness or disabilities very few entertainment products get it right.

What's done is done. So for me I might as well just watch the show as it is.

I do feel in viraj's case they are doing it deliberately and OCPD is only part of the problem ... rest of it is his own making and not related to any mental illness

What he is doing with pot now is something else, it has nothing to do with what he was or did before!!! Someone who always had his way has seen defeat even if it was in form of something he had no control over and he is finding it hard to come to terms with it

I have always said it he suffers from OCPD but his actions are not related to that, OCPD is part of his problem not THE PROBLEM in my opinion and in that context what he has done is unforgivable

Essence of a character is lost only when the characters do contradicting things. Viraj and Raghav are both larger than life character's. I think everybody acknowledged the fact that this show is over the top and dramatic in nature. How come you find one character boring and the other interesting.

Trust me I am not a fan of any i just enjoy characters.

i didi not say that i find viraaj character boring. i mentioned that his actiona are repetative so now no more can i relate to him and thus he became boring for me. and even i did not say that i find raghav interesting, but i want to see him as they just gave him an interesting entry and left us with many queries about him.
that is all.

Don't know about her but i do find viraj boring, not the char but repeated stuff they make him do ... I have enjoyed dadi days viraj, the hello dadi, the sach ka samna viraj ... but when they make him do stuff that is just repeat telecast then it does get boring but i won't say that is viraj the character but the handling that gets boring ... i mean how many times he has told the pot same things over and over again, it just takes the freshness out of it but again that is not the character but the handling!!!

I respect your opinion lets just wait and see how they take the story forward. I think they are just compounding his illness with such scenes but its definitely funny for me.

Do I think he needs to face the consequences for what he's done? Yes. It's not as simple as his deciding to get treatment and all is well. He has committed crimes and is answerable to the law, and the law can deal with him according to his illness or insanity.

The law is corrupt as it is anyway. Add to that how he's made larger than life in the show, it wouldn't surprise me if he never deals with the law.

But he does need to be shown as somehow facing the consequences.

As for forgiveness-- people have forgiven those who've done gruesome and horrific acts to them or their loved ones. It happens all the time. That doesn't mean that they aren't answerable for their actions, nor does it mean that they can all go around holding hands and sing Kumbaya. But forgiveness? That's something upto individuals.

There's nothing wrong with forgiving someone.
