Chapter 6

Party music was in full swing. The dance floor was over flowing with students. Most of the surrounding seating area was already full with groups of friends chatting and enjoying the music. All the way to the other end of the hall were Dhruv, Yash, Jayraj and Raj joking and goofing around while Antara, Sunayna and Nikita were making sure that snacks and beverages they had ordered were enough and in place. Most importantly making sure that their lovely friends, 'the boys' had not went behind their backs and brought any alcoholic drinks. As they knew that those kinds of drinks are the 'attraction' for any kind of party but this one was ON campus, and as long as they were on the campus, they abided by the college rules.

As the boys were goofing and having fun, Yash accidentally stepped back in an effort to avoid Jayraj's fake punch. "I am so sorry!" Yash apologized as he had bumped in to some one while stepping back.

"It's alright, I should have seen myself," a soft beautiful voice answered. Yash turned around to see the source he bumped into. A smile and confusion both took over his face as he saw the face in front of him.

"Hi," Yash greeted, "Aren't you that Christmas Eve, Manali girl?" He turned sideways to look over at Dhruv to confirm if he was right or not. Jayraj and Raj stopped to see what Yash was talking about. Yash moved to his right so that Dhruv could see whom he was blocking. Dhruv stepped up slowly a smile and same confusion as Yash's crossed over his face.

"Ish '" Dhruv started, and seeing her face he continued, "Um Ishika?" He glanced at Yash and both shared the same expression.

"Hi'Dhruv, right?" Ishika confirmed, though she knew. She could never forget his face; the face that looks no less than a Demi-god.

Dhruv smiled, "Hi and yes," he continued on to ask, "What are you doing over here, I mean I am sure I have never seen you in Xi'an before and this is'"

Ishika smiled, "I know, I am not illegally intruding in a party. Okay!"

All four boys gave a blank look to her, and she also looked towards the other three as she didn't know them. She continued on, "You are right, you have never seen me in Xi'an before, and what I meant is that, I am new. I just moved to Kashmir and I start after the break is over."

Dhruv made a 'O' face, then smiled as it struck him that she is going to be attending this very University. He was right, his instincts are never wrong. The minute they departed in Manali, he knew that both of them will meet again. Only this soon and that too for good is not what he had anticipated. He told himself. This is one good start for a new year!

Yash smiled as he saw his friend lost in his own thoughts. He cleared his throat twice to bring him back on Earth. Dhruv looked at him and back at Ishika.

"Well, that's good. I think. Right?" Dhruv asked, not sure how to respond.

Ishika stifled a laugh and replied, "Well, I hope it's good."

Dhruv told himself. What are you doing dude, get a grip, and he said out loud, "Well, these are my friends ' Yash, Jayraj and Raj."

Ishika smiled as she greeted them. Like Dhruv, she also didn't know what to say or do. She was feeling as awkward and uncomfortable as him, especially with his friends around. Ironic, how their first meeting was so smooth and so comfortable than their second one. Ishika thought, Aren't second meetings better than first ones. I mean why am I feeling uncomfortable when I didn't felt this way the first time?

"Hey guys," girls said simultaneously as they reached the group. Ishika turned around to see if it was their group that was being approached. A smile crept up lightening her face as she saw one of the people standing in front of her. She still can't believe that they have grown up so much. Their changed looks are one of the things that remind her of how young they were when her friend left her in Manali.

"Ishika" "Antara" both said at the same time. Antara had called her once after she came to Kashmir and she is the one who invited her to the New Year's Eve too. She was going to come to meet her the next day she came, but due to unexpected reasons she was not able to. But she had made sure to call her and have a chat along with making sure that she will come tonight.

One of the reasons Ishika is at the party at the moment. Both smiled checking each other out. They had seen each other's picture but seeing each other in person was way different. Both stepped forward and hugged each other. Antara sighed a sigh of relief; it sure had been a long time since she saw her best friend. She hugged her dearly and didn't let go. Ishika smiled and let her friend hold on to her. Antara quickly wiped a tear so that no one will notice. But, both Yash and Dhruv had seen her wipe the tear. If it were some one else they would have asked, but these two, looked at each other and kept mum.

Finally pulling apart, Antara said, "I was starting to wonder that I was being ditched."

Ishika said sarcastically, "Excuse me, I am not the one who called instead of showing up." This is what best friends are like. No matter the gap of years since you see the other, but the moment you finally meet, the gap is automatically gone and you start talking as if no tomorrow.

Antara apologized, "Sorry, actually dad just needed a last minute back up at the caf as one of the employee was sick and '"

Ishika interrupted, "Alright, alright, you know I was just joking."

Antara smiled and asked, "Well, why did you come late?"

Ishika replied, "I came a long time ago, But this hall is; one ' big, two ' full of people. How was I supposed to spot a long lost best friend?"

Antara said, "Honey, that's why we have something called," holding Ishika's right hand up, "cell phones!" she finished pointing towards her mobile.

"Madam, I know and I did use it but you are the one who decided to ignore it." Ishika replied sternly.

Antara asked, "I did?" Ishika gave a side smile and nodded. Antara looked at her cell phone to see three missed calls and one text message from Ishika. She bit her tongue and looking up she mumbled, "Sorry."

Ishika rolled her eyes, "It's alright!" she said, "I am glad to finally find you and remind me next time to not put down a ride. Okay?"

Now it was Antara's turn to roll her eyes, "Yes caption, as you command."

Both looked at each other and finally said, "I missed you so much," together. Hearing this they both smiled and after a moment dropped their smiles as they realized that there were people around them looking at them with utter confusion.

Antara's friends looked at her and glancing from one to another she greeted, "Hi people."

Ishika laughed, but tried to hide it. Unfortunate for her, the next thing she heard was a stern, "Shut-up" from Antara.

Ishika commented, "You have not changed at all."

Antara replied, "Oh you don't know yet." Ishika raised her eye brows, not sure of what her friend was hinting at. She made a mental note to ask on this matter later on.

Antara looked at Yash and Dhruv and continued, "Well, you guys know I told you about my friend coming from Manali?"

Both nodded, she continued, "Well this is her. So, meet ' "

"Ishika," Dhruv interrupted.

Antara said, "Yeah, you know each other?" she glanced at Ishika.

Yash nodded when she looked back at them. He replied, "I don't, he does."

Antara looked at Dhruv who answered, "Well, remember I told you about Christmas Eve. Dance?"

"Yeah. So?" Antara asked confused.

Yash said, "Well, this is her!" Dhruv shot him a look. Yash whispered back, "What?"

Antara looked at Ishika who gave a nod in return. "Oh, I see." Antara said with a smile, "Well, then I am guessing Dhruv already introduced you to boys," turning around she said, "So Ishika this is ' Sunayna and -"

"Nikita," Ishika interrupted.

Antara threw her hand up in air, "Oh Kay do you care to tell me who you already know? So I don't waste my breath."

So, I guess you guys still remember the NOTE from the last update? Hope no body forgot as it was double one by Khush and one by Monal too. If you guys forgot than go back to pg 26 and re-read. we are not going to re write same thing over and over again. But we will say that the note is still effective!
