First off I have to say that I thought Aditti Gupta was really good. These actors who come to perform learn the dances in no time at all to perform them for the episode and she had quite a heavy load of 4-5 dances! I was really impressed with her expressions mostly where she did that whole classy, seduction thing really well! So applause for her effort and for the very good results! 👏👏
And kudos to the PH for not scrimping on anything. They brought someone really classy in for this. I really liked the dynamic between her and GC especially, they were totally in sync in terms of delivering on the choreography and creating that comic effect of Yash's awkwardness.
Now only a few points about the episode:
Arpita is Yash's imperious Curse
Ok so just like "Yash" is the final word for Shobha and "Ansh" get Aarti to do just about anything, it seems that the mention of Arpita is what does it for Yash and Prateek uses this to his full advantage. I don't really understand after a point what Prateek's deal is here. Yash agreed to be cheerful and came to the party, what is the need to keep pushing him and that too with such heavy blackmail? This worries me a little about Prateek's character. He is a master manipulator and is not afraid to pull out any stops, unlike his family who doesn't talk about Arpita in front of Yash. But it is nice to know more about Yash and how he used to be the dancing type. And in Prateek's defense he did look like he was finally having a good time with the dancer before he glimpsed Aarti. So does that mean in some cases the EA is justified?
Paridhi and Mansi: Dream Team!
OMG! I loved these two together. Just like Yash, I guess it wouldn't hurt for Aarti to loosen up a little, though pushing her into such a situation is probably not the best way. Still, one has to start somewhere! I loved Paridhi and Mansi's eye-talk when there were trying to get Aarti to agree. I liked Mansi again because it is true that she has these incorrect notions about Yash but she is also pushing Aarti to talk. It bothers me on the other hand, that Aarti is nursing the wrong notions from Mansi but not internalising the need to talk to Yash in the same vein. Why not take Mansi's good advice?
I also found it hilarious that Paridhi was more upset that Prateek was partying without her than the fact that he was partying. I think this showed the contrast between the Scindias and the Khannas because we see that Prateek is pleasantly surprised by her attitude. Like Gayatri said, in the Scindia house girls are not supposed to dance in public and the men also have to have their fun in secret. Paridhi is going to blow the doors wide open and Mama Scindia better watch iit!
And so had Vidhi, if she knew what was good for her... Mansi has landed 😕.
It's not Just Yash
So all this time I have been saying that Yash really needs to use his words because as long as he acts first and speaks later, he will never be able to get his point across to Aarti. And I still do believe that, but now I also want to add that Aarti needs to be a better listener. At least I see Yash trying to clear the air but Aarti seems to want to be nowhere near him, nor does she let him speak when he tries to do so. So I realised today that the issues and problems are mutual. Aarti with her childish, impulsive side is letting the first impression she had of Yash get the better of her and Yash with his eloquence being far more in action than in word acts without explaining himself. I am sure he is used to people assuming him right because of his family background and the fact that most people he interacts with know him really well. He is not used to having to explain himself for anything. And so when the thought to explain himself does strike, it is almost always too late.
But as much as I hate this MU I do realise that it is the only thing holding Yash and Aarti together at the moment. If it weren't for this MU, neither would Yash have that desire to speak to Aarti, nor would she show him her spunky, angry side that sort of snaps him out of Arpita world and makes him want to fix things, in the present. So as pointless as it is, I can't fault its use in the story.
The Last Scene
Finally we got some insight into Payal and Palak's feelings on this whole thing and that is, that they really have none! As much as Yash, they are still trapped in Arpita world, I think following their dad's lead. I think they have grown up with the norm being a mother who occupies this invisible space but is someone they worship and whose mention makes their dad smile. It is almost like Arpita has some sort of godlike presence in their lives. When they said they remember her everyday, it almost sounded like a ritual. And I think on some level the girls sense their dad's sadness and want to make him feel better.
It broke my heart when Yash said kaash because it got me to thinking how much fun this wedding would have been for him if Arpita was still around. It would have obviously been just Prateek's wedding and there would have been lots of fun, dancing, teasing and advice from Yash bhaiyya and lots of romance for him with Arpita, because what with all the dressing up, dancing and general love in the air feeling, weddings promise romance for all. And now instead of all the happiness he had planned with Arpita, he is stuck in this extremely painful situation where he has lost all control and peace in his life. It just makes me sad...
Finally, I thought it was interesting that he wanted to talk to Aarti ASAP but was actually stopped by the girls . Does this mean they might be an obstacle as much as Ansh is a cupid? Also it made me think that even when Yash is in the present momentarily, his family keeps dragging him back into the past. I think Aarti will bring the present and the future with her because of her complete non-relation to anything Arpita.
Precap: Yash got his very own Mansi! Now we have to see if he is as easily convinced of bad things as Aarti was. 🤔
