Voice of the angel ...to heal the thakurs

Hi dear friendz,
Do I need to point out that yesterday's episode was simply superb... worthy of being ranked probably one of the best so far, IMO at least. Emotions ran high throughout covering the full spectrum, from the aching pain of the wounded thakurs to the orgasmic laughter of ShaMe couple.
Among the gems of acting scattered throghout the epi, it's really a tough job to select the most lasting frame. But, the scene that touched me the most was the one where amma caressed the face of her DIL with such a regretful affection.
As words fail to describe the misery of thakurs, I tried to find a fitting supplement... Something like a song, with powerful lyrics and an immortal rendering. And then my search led me to this great number from the one and only Rafi sahab. I have heard many people trying to sing this song and the one who could, was none other than the original (trust me, it's impossible to replicate it by anyone, come what may). This is undoubtedly, one of the most difficult songs to sing and the surprising fact is that it does'nt figure in his hit albums. Friends, I assure that not many of u would hv heard this before...the song that eventually made to the film is a bit different from this. This version has 3 stanzas but the film version has just two.
So guys, preserve this link as a specimen of priceless treasure which is in peril now. Just see how magically the angel's voice attains the full range of the octave with exemplary rendering of high n low notes. I'll return to ask u if there is anyone capable of replicating this masterpiece.
P.S: For those who can't access the link from their mobiles, I m writing the lyrics here. I bet that no other song can point towards the vicissitudes of time being faced by exiled SS family as effectively as this one. So frndz, enjoy the muse of the maestro while I keep waiting anxiously for ur feedback. This, to me is the greatest Rafi number...& luckily it's become so relevant to MKAP all of a sudden, courtesy property track.
Kaun apna, kaun paraya?
Duniya ka ye bhed abhi tak koi samajh nahi paya!
Jeevan ki nayya me sabhi hain rahi ek manzil ke,
Inhi me man ke meet milenge, inhi me dushman dil ke,
Kisi ke dil me bhari hai nafrat, kisi me pyar ki maya!
Bichhre log bhi mil jaate hai, kabhi kabhi jeevan men,
Khushi ki lehren bhi uthti hain, kisi ke dukhiya man men,
Kabhi kisi ne khoya jag men, kabhi kisi ne paaya!
Koi murakh ban ke begana, apnon ko thukraaye,
Koi kisi ki khushi ke kaaran, raste se hat jaaye,
Koi kinara chhor ke dhoondhe toofanon ka saaya!

Thumbs up, Bro...
Excellent selection. Never heard it before.
Me a huge fan of Kishore...but even he'd hv resigned on this one because it's classical-based.

Thnx Ramla dear, for sparing ur time to listen this master piece.
@ red: That's a mystery for me...how a song of this extraordinary nature was never included in various hit colections of Rafi?
@ blue: Me too ... I hv most of his numbers in my PC.
@ underline: Can't say...but probaby yes because Kishore was not trained in classical. See, u can't really compare the 2 legends as they had their own strengths. Rafi could sing virtually anything but impressed most in serious songs. Kishore was at his best in lively n sort of comic songs. That Kishore was not trained in classical but still gave immortal hits in various genres makes his taent all the more outstanding. If u want to really compare these two gods of melody, I recommend u to listen 'tum bin jaun kahan' from 'pyar ka mausam'. This particular song has been sung twice by Rafi (one happy version & the other sad one) & once by Kishore (happy version with different lyrics but same tune & a lot of yodelling)...

A truely fitting song.

He certainly was a whitney on high notes, simply incomparable.
