The famous saying goes saali adhi gharwali. I think there s a similar something for the dewar as well not sure.

Not quite sure what the means vibz but I have a gut feeling 😆

In my town a few years back we had a standing joke. If a Hindu married girl had to have an affair no-one bothered asking who it was with. It was always with her devar. Thankfully such incidents have died down now.

@feviewer. The brother marrying his brother's widow used to be commonplace in Zulu culture in SA. Pretty sure it is still practised sometimes. And the girl marrying her mama or her cousin was also practised by our South Indian community. Not very often but it did happen.

Cultures and morals are not the same in neighbouring towns let alone in countries thousands of miles apart from each other. That's what makes the world such a special place!
