CHAPTER 12:ASR's Master Stroke

Arnav got up. He had to act. Quick and fast, to handle the situation before it got out of hand. He had to think fast. An idea popped up in his mind but would it work. He had no time to think as buaji was quickly regaining all her senses.

Buaji: arnav bitwa? What are you doing here?

Arnav: buaji? What's wrong with you? I am not here.

Buaji: but you are standing in front of me bitwa.

Arnav: oh you mean this?

He asked pointing at himself.

Arnav: you are dreaming buaji.

Buaji: what?

Arnav: what do you remember last?

Buaji: falling asleep after putting khushi to bed.

Arnav: see. Didn't I tell you. You are still asleep. But you are dreaming all this.

Buaji: but how is that possible? You are standing in my room. And I am wearing the same clothes that I wore today.

Arnav: oh come on buaji. What do you think I'll be doing in your room at night? You were just worried about khushi's happiness after marriage and wanted to talk to me. that is why you are having this dream.

Buaji: oh.

Sounding completely confused.

Arnav: if you don't believe me, I'll do magic. Close your eyes and count till three.

She closed her eyes and counted.

Arnav: om namo shamo shasha, let there be magic, let me call someone else you know into this dream.

While she was counting to 3, arnav pulled akash from under the bed and made him get up just in time when buaji opened her eyes.

Arnav: tat ta da da. See I made akash appear from nowhere.

Akash was still stunned. He didn't know anything that was going on. He had no idea as to what his brother was upto. He was too shocked to react.

Arnav hissed: play along you idiot.

Akash then smiled and he said,

Akash: whats up babe? You called?

Buaji: hai re nand Kishore. What the hell is wrong with you akash bitwa? I am your bua.

Akash: but babe, this is just a dream. Anything can happen here.

Buaji was stunned. All her sense of reasoning had vanished. She was completely and utterly confused.

Arnav: yeah bua. Don't you know. In this dream of yours, I and akash are a gay couple.

Buaji:WHAT?

This stunned akash as well. He wasn't expecting this. But he couldn't do anything to arnav. If he did he knew that arnav would kill him.

Arnav: you heard me.

And then buaji gasped in shock as she saw arnav kneel down and take akash's right hand and with lot of determination kissed akash's hand.

Both akash and arnav were embarrassed and buaji mistook that look to being shy.

Akash whispered: bhai? What the?

Arnav: dude just play along. This is the only way to fool her right now.

And arnav got up.

Akash: so babe? You still think this is not a dream. Now my its turn to prove it to you. Arnavji, please lead.

Akash saying so put a rose in between his teeth, the one he had brought for payal. But this situation was more important. He took out his phone and started playing a song. And arnav and akash started to dance hand in hand and akash's hand on his brother's shoulder and arnav had his hand holding akash's back.

Buaji gaped in horror as she watched them dance, arnav would swing akash, then pull him towards him, push him away, and they continued to dance as though they were lost in each other.

khushi and payal were sleeping until they heard a knock. Khushi's heartbeat raised when she heard it. Her heart seemed to be jumping with joy at the idea that arnav had come to see her despite the fact that payal was there too.

But she didn't move. She felt if she opened the window and found nothing she'll get depressed. She heard a sound again. Now she was slightly excited and slightly terrified. She didn't know what to do.

After 5 minutes she decided to open the window. She went to the window and opened it. But no one was standing there. She felt really disappointed. She wanted to see arnav at midnight like everyday before this one. It was already 11 and arnav was nowhere in sight.

She went and sat in her bed. Tears started coming to her eyes. She didn't know why but she started crying. She couldn't control herself at all. She wanted to see arnav very badly.

She couldn't wait. The thought of him being away from her was very disturbing. Payal woke up to see khushi in tears. She sat up immediately and put a hand on her shoulder and asked,

Payal: khushi is everything alright. Why are you crying?

Khushi used her hands to wipe her tears and then she spoke.

Khushi: I miss him jiji.

Payal took her hand and lightly hit khushi on her head.

Payal: you are one day going to make everyone become like you.

Khushi: become what?

Payal: paagal(crazy).

Khushi: its not that di. I just didn't want to break that promise.

Payal what promise? You aren't making any sense. Just let it out khushi.

Khushi: jiji first can you make me a cup of tea. Then I'll tell you what I am talking about.

Payal: oh my god. You have so many conditions. I don't even know how arnav bhaiya fell in love with something so crazy.

Khushi: jiji.

Khushi said irritably.

Payal: fine I'll make it for you. Coming to the kitchen.

Khushi: ya sure. why not. What am I going to do here anyway?

Payal and khushi were on their way to the kitchen when they heard music.

Khushi: is that music?

Payal: yes I think so. and its coming from buaji's room.

Khushi: look at her. Listening to English songs at 11.30 in the night. And she calls me sanka devi.

Payal; lets see what she is upto. They opened the door, but what they saw they didn't expect. Not even in their dreams.

akash and arnav were still dancing.

Akash: bhai how long are we going to have to do this?

Arnav: do you think I am enjoying myself? Just do it until she gets mad enough and goes to sleep. Atleast that's what I hope happens.

Buaji was still standing in the same position. Her jaw had dropped long back because of what she was seeing. She couldn't believe that she was having such a terrible nightmare. Then the doors behind her opened and standing there were payal and khushi. Arnav and akash stopped dancing, turned the music off and akash took out the flower from his mouth. Khushi and payal were stunned on seeing akash and arnav dance like this.

Buaji: payal, when did you get here?

Payal: buaji , that, i

But she wasn't able to speak. She was still in the state of shock.

Buaji: what stupid question am I asking. This is my dream and of course anything can happen.

Khushi and payal were stunned. They didn't know what was going on.

Khushi thinking: what the heck is going on? Why are they here and what the hell are they doing in buaji's room and that too like this.

Buaji then went towards arnav and akash and split them apart and stood in between them.

Buaji:I don't care. Even if it's a dream I don't want you both to do that ever again. Its my dream right? So arnav you go with khushi and akash you go with payal. That is final. Its my dream and I say that is what I want to see.

Akash and Arnav couldn't control their laughter looking at the confused look on their wife's faces. They were doing all in their power and it was taking a lot of effort not to burst out laughing. Buaji took their hands led them to khushi and payal and placed their hands on their respective wife's hands.

Buaji: this is how I always want it to be. And now since its my dream and I can do whatever I want, I'll go and sleep. Then atleast I'll dream of something better than this stupid nightmare.

Saying so she pushed them out of her room, closed the door went back to her bed to sleep and pulled the bedsheet completely over her heard and closed her eyes tightly shut and went back to sleep.

arnav and akash quickly led khushi and payal to their room and locked the door and burst out laughing. They were loud and to ensure that their laughter didn't wake the rest of the house, they had to keep their hands on their mouths. Khushi and payal still didn't know what was going on. They were confused. To clear their confusion akash and arnav narrated the whole story of what had happened. At the end of which all of them broke out laughing again. Khushi had to bite her hand to stop her from laughing. They were laughing so much that by the end of it, their cheeks were paining, they were panting slightly, had tears in their eyes and their stomach was paining due to all this laughing.

Payal: anyway what are both of you doin here akash and arnav bhaiya?

Akash: well bhai said he wanted to meet khushi bhabhi. So we came here.

Arnav lifted his eyebrow and asked,

Arnav: and akash what are you doing here then? This was all my plan so you cant even tell me that you helped me here.

Akash: that bhai i

Akash was stammering as he blushed. Looking at that payal started blushing.

Arnav: ok fine leave that. Khushi we are going out. Get ready quickly and we'll leave.

Khushi: right now? But what if someone comes?

Arnav: that didn't seem to be a problem yesterday.

And khushi blushed becoming what arnav described to be his lovely tomato.

Arnav came forward and whispered near khushi's ear,

Arnav: get ready quickly tomato before I kiss you right here. You are testing my patience. I wont even care if your jiji sees it.

Khushi turned dark red. Then she finally agreed and went to change.

Arnav meanwhile turned to face payal and akash.

Arnav: we'll be back in a few hours. Akash lock the door when we get out. And even the bedroom doors. Don't open them at all. And if someone has to come in, akash just get some blanket and cover yourself and pretend to be khushi and payal can answer the door. And akash, don't get too lost in your world that you don't notice when I call you to open the window.

Akash blushed but he replied,

Akash: of course bhai. Don't worry.

Arnav: fine I'll go and get the car to the front. Payal please ask your sister to hurry. And saying so arnav left to get his car. He pulled out his car to the front and waited for 5 mins and saw khushi come out of the front door. His jaw dropped admiring her beauty. She was in an orange sari today and was wearing the bangles that he had gifted her in the hawan during payal's marriage. She looked perfect, like an angel. Her natural beauty was something that shook his heart and pumped something else in his veins. He felt as though time had stopped. He was looking into her eyes appreciating her beauty and she was looking into his to see how he looked at her.

Arnav just wanted to loose control. But he kept eminding himself that after 24 hours he will get his wish. But today was going to be a real tough task to keep his hands off her. It was an impossible mission. But he would do it. He would have her tomorrow. Today was the day he would give her the best wedding present ever.

Khusi walked and got into the car. She was now not able to see his eyes as he was checking her out and all she could do was blush profusely.

Arnav: wow. Just wow. You look gorgeous.

She blushed. She wasn't able to take this anymore.

She tried to avert his attention by changing the topic.

Khushi: where are we going?

Arnav was still lost in her beauty. He didn't notice her speak. He couldn't hear anything.

Khushi pinched his nose to bring him back to reality.

Khushi: I asked you where are we going?

Arnav: I have to give you some marriage presents. And to answer the question as to where we are going, we are going to my farm land. Yes the same place where we went on toohfaan. And as to what we are going to do, well its something that you would never have imagined in your life.
