Hey Everyone,

I am a silent reader on the forum, although i did post just once, I much rather enjoy reading the wonderful analysis and symbolism posts that the members put up and I am so in awe of the depth of these analysis and the nuances that are noticed (due credit to the actors too who bring in those nuances to the characters! )

Well...I don't intend to repeat any of the analysis(which i so fully agree with) but for me what has always stood out in the serial or the story really is the character of Arnav and how he holds onto things ...things, one would think, he would never pay attention to. Makes one wonder what goes on in his mind !

Cut to Holi scene - Khushi is busy manaaoing Naniji and in steps in Arnav, spot on time, watching her and only her and hearing her and only her, even the song seems to echo all that he wishes to hear, hear khushi say and as if on cue Khushi steps in tune and mouths the lines -

"Do meethe bol jaaneman, jo muskuraake bol de, toh dhadkanon mein aaj bhi , sharaabi rang ghol de"

Arnav Singh Raizada , got what he wished for, his unspoken wish has been granted. DM isn't partial to only Khushi you know, she has her soft corner for Khushi's Arnav jee too!

For Arnav, to hear Khushi even mouth those lines in a song, are just as equal to her screaming out loud that it makes her happy when he calls her name softly and is nice to her, its all that matters to her ... its what he already knows and silently acknowledges , but now..can accept it with a relieved heart! All their silent private heart fluttering Rabbe ves matter to her just as much as they do to him and even though Khushi never said it aloud...do meethe bol from Arnav -"Tum Theek ho", "lag jaati toh?", the soft utterance of 'Khushi' makes Khushi go weak in the knees and definitely intoxicated and drive her out of her senses...leaving her confounded one time too many...;)

We knew this, but Arnav just had to hear it loud and what better than a song and Khushi dancing to it to let him know...

Do meethe bol Jaaneman...indeed! Give it to her Arnav, it's all she ever wanted to hear from you...do meethe bol...

And to think that Arnav doesn't look for reassurances that he matters to someone too... In little gestures of Khushi...in random situations, the man hiding behind the tycoon face, seeks assurances for his vulnerable heart that he matters , matters to someone, enough to have them have their life revolve around him , that he is the khushi of someone!

Arnav is every man and yet not. Vulnerable as can be and yet the one soldier who run to hell and back to protect and be with his love!

Until next time,
Sareeta

Thank you.

I recollect someone mentioning on an earlier post of mine, that we never have a voice over for Arnav's character and perhaps that is the elusive quality about him - he appears to be a complicated personality when he isnt actually! Perhaps his silence screams louder than all that the entire Raizada family says put together.
His presence is so silent ...and yet when he isnt around, everyone knows he isnt there and if that isnt proof that his silence speaks, what else does?
It also occured to me , that Khushi is his voice too... strange as this may sound...we aren't talking about ASR the business tycoon and his voice but just Arnav and that vulnerable man caught inside who struggles to express and Khushi says it all...
Perhaps the confession too, will be Khushi saying it rather echoing his feelings and she really wouldn't even need to hear him say it..she will just know...
Perhaps , Perhaps...Peeerrrhhaaaps! :)

Excellent angle of looking at Arnav, sareeta! How could I have possibly missed this post! the best two statements, I loved in you post:

@desibubbly - for me Arnav is the one character that holds my interest - not for the complexity, but just how much of an open book he is to those around, to those who'd care to pay attention, but is perceived as being complex.
He is a simple man, with very simple needs - he wishes to be cared for, to be loved. It's all he wishes.
Nahin milti to nakaartha hai, aur jab mil rahi hai, toh sambhaale sambhalti nahin usse! :)

I admire your positivity and above all I love how you see a complex personality as the simple one he is underneath.

HI Sareeta
I had a chance to read your analysis about 24/25th January (about the scenes after the 'Teri Meri' dance sequence).
I couldnt agree more that Arnav, then, had realized the affect that he has on Khushi (her stammers, and her moving back when he walks towards her etc etc)...and was quiet rightly amused by it too.
I only wonder, what ASR (not arnav) would do with such knowledge!
It has occured to me that this Holi confession from Khushi may be used by ASR to his advantage...
