bollywood is full of hypocrisy, even if u make a flop film, no star would challenge to take ur film up even if ur upcoming movie is damn exciting...again here Vidya Balan deserves brownie points to take up this film and giving her heart to it...now u can imagine how this guy Sujoy Ghosh produced the movie...the audio of the film is released on PEN AUDIO can u believe it ??? Vidya is not the only star, but she is the one who is also promoting, campaigning, spread it as hard as she can...few days back i put my displeasure over vidya's promotions as a preggo through out for the film...but now after reading what Sujoy said, i think it was required, i take my words back and shame on those big stars putting big names before good stories...would kareena or priyanka take kahani with them...never, only vidya could do it

Vidya Balan's hubby's identity in Kahaani still a secret

Director Sujoy Ghosh's latest movie Kahaani is about a pregnant woman, who is in search of missing husband in Kolkata. Vidya Balan is playing the daring, courageous pregnant woman in the film. But the role of her husband, which has been kept under wrap, has created lot of curiosity among the movie buffs.

It was reported earlier that actor Emraan Hashmi would be seen as Vidya Balan's husband in the filmKahaani. But the role is reportedly essayed by TV actor Indraneil Sengupta. The makers of the movie have kept his identity secret and they want every to watch the movie to know about him.

Talking to PTI, Sujoy Ghosh Said, "If I put a known face (for husband's role), it acts as disadvantage for me because I can't give him that kind of footage on screen. The reason why I did not put a known face is that with a known face there are lot of expectation. Also you have to understand I don't have stars lined up after me as my last two films were flops...so whatever stars I get, I work with them."

The director says he is fortunate to have Vidya Balan act and Amitabh Bachchan singing a song in Kahaani. He declines to reveal the identity of Vidya Balan. "All I can say is that the husband is a normal actor. In five minutes...you will know who the husband is", PTI quotes quotes him as saying him.

Talking about Vidya, Sujoy Ghosh said, "Vidya was the only choice for the film. Kahaani became only due to Vidya. As I always wanted to work with her during Salam-E-Ishq times." He added, "Vidya is a kind of actress whatever role you tell her to do...be it an 18-year-old girl or a blind or a mad woman... you just tell her what role she has to do and she does her own research. If she likes the role, she will take care of it."

@Emmafrost: The opposite also happens. As soon as a director makes a hit film he forgets the little known actors and moves on to stars. Like after Aamir clicked the director didnt cast Rajeev for his next film but instead cast stars like Rani, Vidya. Another example is the director of Udaan who made a critically acclaimed film with TV star Ronit Roy and a newbie...his second film he has cast Ranveer, Sonakshi. The director of Parineeta cast then bigger star Rani Mukherjee for his second film instead of casting Vidya Balan.
Basically everyone wants to sell their product. Director wants to sell his films thru successful stars and stars want to sell their films thru successful directors.

I would not blame the stars for this. After making films like Home Delivery and Alladin, who would want to work with the director?I mean those films were pathetic, plus his second film had AB Sr. too;it flopped because of the nonsense he churned out in the film.

Its not just films, everywhere its the same case.Competition ka zamaana hai,no one gets a second chance;you need to be innovative yourself to pull in stars for your movies, which Sujoy might have done with Kahaani. He wrote a script with a character which only Vidya would choose since it probably is different from what female actors choose today. So i really don't see any fault in the stars.Personally,if I would be an actor,I wouldn't even give a shit to his movie after the duds like Alladin and Home Delivery.

Now that Sujoy has done a good work(as per the reviews),I wish him all the very best for Kahaani and his future films. :)

so basically actors don't work on good scripts and good movies just because a director gave two shits in the backyard, 😕that's too harsh and mean...sorry i don't go with this theory...BIG STARS obviously wont' do that ... but good actors shall defintely do becoz a good film doesn't belong to a director it belongs to the story first and rest follows...there is no rule written in any file or holy book tht a director can't make a good movie after giving 2 or 20 shitty films. everyone should be given a fair chance...aur competitions ki baat stars ke liye hoti hai...creativity ke liye nahi...cinema is not just for entertainment. there are people there who wants to good movies.

@Black:Yup,that's true. The showman of Cinema,Subhash Ghai is known to be a really good director. After the box office dud Yuvraaj, where has he disappeared? He has worked with some of the biggest stars but have they even turned back at him?

@That's harsh and mean because that is the reality of life-It is harsh and mean.

@blue-I agree that good actors always go by the script and not stars, but I replied to your statement of why big stars like Kareena,Priyanka didn't choose Kahaani.Because they are stars and they only go by the market value, not the script. They need hits and a space in the column of newspapers, not awards. So they choose films backed by big directors and big production houses.

@green-Who said there is no competition in creativity?😕Creative people are the ones who try to be no.1 in their field...and as soon as they try to be the leader of the field they are in,competition automatically arises.😛

@for the black line comment : that is subjective...no director remains successful till the end. This will happen similar with Sanjay Leela Bhansali considered the duds he is giving same goes with David dhawan and many other directors..also sohail khan directed so many great movies before he can do them again...then why doesn't he ? here the banner is important...not the director.

@Harsh and mean comment - certainly not...Actors like Naseerudin Shah and Om puri still feature in solo movies and do well for themselves, they have no great market value but they have managed to sustain also forgot Anupam Kher...not everyone has to be a big star. Anupam kher started his career playing an old man and tht movie was a commercial failure but today he has a great status in bollywood.

@So let them be...its their problem if they lose good films but i am sure there are far more talented people than them to work in such movies...all they need is a chance.

@Creaitivity doesn't believe in commercialism, suppose if i make a short film that does well in so many film festivals giving me great reviews..but i fail to make any mark in the film industry that doesn't mean i am not creative but i am not successful. All films are not creative but they carry entertainment value which is why Art and parallel cinema considers A more creative cinema...there is an endless debate on it. But in simpler way to put is Every good film can't be a blockbuster or ATBB or what crap. BTW...Kareena and Priyanka both have done such films and both of them were unsuccessful the one was chameli other one was Saat khoon maaf only difference here is tht they got much higher price than vidya got for kahani

Given the mutually beneficial relationship between stars and actors I wonder how Shirish Kunder has managed to get a star like Akshay for Joker after duds like Janeman and Tees Maar Khan?

simple answer - faddah khan...jaane-man too had faadah in the making after when they got married..everyone knows how a struggling film editor became a director...its very unlikely that an editor takes the place of a director
