STAR Plus leading ladies spread the spirit of womanhood this Women's Day!

Our STAR Plus leading ladies have been an inspiration to many with their thought provoking ideas. They stay firmly rooted to their traditions, yet move forward with their thought-provoking personalities . The typical ghungat clad bahus have come out bolder yet gentle when it comes to family matters. There is a change in not just tone of their voice but also their personality, transforming the way Indian women are now seen on television. So, be it Pratigya, Sandhya or a Suhana each of the ladies are a source of inspiration to others in their own ways.

We asked the leading ladies of STAR Plus to pick their favourites from the STAR fraternity who they think have contributed to the society. We asked them who in their opinion is a thought-provoking leading lady and in what way are they influencing society.

"All the leading ladies are playing their part well. But I find Pratigya's character very thought-provoking because she stands against all odds. She always makes a movement and takes a stand for what is right. She inspires women to be themselves. Also for some reasons I admire Sandhya as well, who has just begun her life's journey."

"Women should stand against all odds, and be achievers and torch-bearers. They should always come out with flying colours in all the struggles of their lives. It is very important for women to be strong because they are the 'shakti of the country'."

"I think Pratigya is the most thought-provoking because she stands for women's rights. She has shown everyone that women don't have to be ruled by men and that they are smart and cannot be taken for granted. In the small towns of India, women don't even have the right to speak. I am sure they are now being influenced by Pratigya and have realized their rights to be on par with men.

STAR Plus is doing a great job by promoting a 'nayi soch ki nayi leher'. Some of the practices like wearing ghunghat and not being able to voice your opinions have started to change for better now after watching Pratigya. Women have been very positively influenced by her."

"I feel Pratigya from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya is very thought provoking and a strong radical woman. She is very courageous, and believes in standing up for what is right. Pratigya is someone that each and every person these days can identify with. The audience watching the show is keen to absorb messages of these shows. Hence, the characters in the show becomes there idol. Strong female characters are loved by the viewer's as they feel that the society needs some kind of reform. Also the impact the serial has on the audience makes it stand out from others".
