Well for me, this was actually the scene post realization where he accepted albeit reluctantly that she will never let anyone in that exclusive space that she shared with Vasant…..The way he walks in closing the door behind him crying his heart out feeling the impact of his decision and realizing the fact what that decision would entail…facing his biggest fear of not having her around….for him this was the breaking point for all his misadventure and childish tantrums it was that chotu Kesu lurking behind wanting unconditional exclusivity with his Gulaal whatever name that exclusivity came in was immaterial and sacrificing that for what her freedom, her happiness was the biggest thing he could have done, rising in selfless act and letting go of that last bit of hold sigh!

Her subsequent acceptance of that hand of friendship though still hesitant was acknowledging the fact that he truly realised she was and will always be devoted to her late husband, for her this fact was supreme and his acceptance of this cleared any doubts that she had over his sudden changed behaviour in granting her, her freedom, she still had to realise the depth of his love and feelings for her what she acknowledged at this point was that he had taken that first step in right direction but had a long way to go before he truly fulfilled all her promises she made to her late husband….

Beautifully executed by both this versatile actors a truly moving and amazingly conceived scene….
