AA: Ronit is Ektas poster boy

If Vidya Boombat Balan was Ekta Kapoor's poster girl, then TV superstar Ronit Roy seems to be Ekta's poster boy. Ronit, who has always been the main protagonist in Ekta Kapoor's soaps, will now be seen in an important role in Shootout at Wadala, which is being produced by Balaji.

In all modesty, Ronit says that he holds Ekta in high regard. When asked if he is considered to be Ekta's poster boy, he says, "Of course I am her blue-eyed boy as she says so," he says.
Having played crucial roles in most of the Balaji productions, Ronit says the roles define him and the faith that Ekta has in him.
He admits that one of the reasons to take up the latest offer was to act alongside Anil Kapoor. "It's like my dream to work with Anil has finally come true. I've always idolised him and hoped that some day I would get an opportunity to work with him. That day has finally come and I'm extremely happy about it. I'm looking forward to the shoot now," he says adding that the strong and edgy script too was another factor why he took up the project. "I feel the film has the potential to be India's answer to The Godfather."
