What does this mean?
Frankly the episode was a bit of a drag for me compared to last week and the beginning of this one. Since yesterday I have been a little disappointed with the balance in the episodes between Aarti and Yash's respective stories. I am starting to feel bored watching Aarti cry, shout and maul her sleeping child episode after episode. And I promise this is not just because I started watching this show for GC.
I love KS and Aarti's character but I cannot deny the fact that her story is getting monotonous. We get that Aarti is in a lot of pain, we get that Shobha and her have a great relationship, we get that she loves her child in an over-possessive way that makes her want to touch him all the time, WHAT NEXT? On the other hand, we have had almost no interactions between Yash and his girls or Yash and his family. I know we will see plenty of them after the marriage, but I want to see what Yash's dynamic with his kids is, alone.
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?!
I mean i watch with my mother, who is an unbiased viewer and she was getting so irritated with Aarti (this probably also had something to do with the fact that she is missing the big romantic track in BALH now because she refuses to admit that she is that invested 😉 Her loss). Anyway while I was patiently sitting through it she was shouting, "get on with the story", "enough crying, already" and "god, now wonder this show has good TRPs. Every teardrop is worth a point in TRPs" 🤣
Ok the few good things in the episode were:
The revelation that Aarti still loves Prashant: Even though we all already sort of knew this, it was good to get a confirmation from her mouth and have the writers confirm their own characterisation. Herein lies an important similarity between Yash and Aarti. They both fall hard and commit forever. Unfortunately both of them had their partners ripped out of their lives and are facing a lot of pain for being that committed the first time around. Can't wait to see them heal each other slowly.
Dubey's conversation with Prashant. I expected Shobha's reaction and apparently so did Prashant because it seemed not to phase him one bit. It was his dad he asked to talk to and when he did talk to his father he was shot down and that pompous expression on his face finally changed into a slightly shocked and hurt one. It is clear that though a quiet, non-obtrusive man, Dubey has a lot of power. His one word is equal to 1000 by Shobha...kind of like Yash! They say you marry men like your father! What I loved most was how he stood by Shobha like a rock against Prashant, said his piece and hung up the phone.
Aarti asking whether Prashant asked about Ansh. It saddens me to know that if he came back to this day, she would probably accept him without question. Even though we can justify this with her love for him, I think somewhere it is also her low self-esteem. She doesn't really think herself deserving of anything better, subconsciously and as an orphan she must be grateful to even have got this much in the form of parents and her child. And she can't forget that it is Prashant who gave all these things to her. So somewhere I think she still feels indebted to him as well as her love being very deep and the two would be hard to separate or differentiate from one another.
The precap: OMG! Is the divorce truth going to come out before the marriage? 😲
That would be a wonderful surprise indeed and take my respect for the CVs to a whole new level. I really hope this is the case as the Prashant thing also turned out not to be the tease we all thought it was. Thank god they showed the plot hints BEFORE they showed GC in a towel. ☺️ Otherwise I may not have been able to comment quite so lucidly. Again, if Aarti's truth is to be revealed to Yash in this context, WHAT is with these two and BATHROOMS?! 😕
Burning Question of the Day
DOES AARTI KNOW ABOUT YASH'S KIDS? They have not shown her being told about them. Are we supposed to assume she knows already? Or is that revelation still to come?
I want a more Yash-oriented episode tomorrow to balance this out, please and not just because of that towel, promise! I want to learn more about his character and I want to see more of his kids, dammit!
