'To be or not to be'

Shakespeare's this single quote, has the power of questioning the existence, of every freaking thing that is cosmic. And similarly, it doesn't leave an exception, the most complex subject present on earth, thank yu to the accidental meeting of the independent women from Venus, n the powerful men from Mars. The subject, which we all fondly call relationships. Something has been rightly said about relations, they tangle themselves well n good, profusely, and leave it to us, to detangle them, in the process, breaking something here and there, n weaving them with weak knots.

We Dmgians, as we proudly call ourselves, consider one relation as the highest one amongst all those we've ever seen, that of Armaan Mallik, and Riddhima Gupta.

It is a fact, that most of the Dmgians have shifted their faith, from Armaan n Riddhima to many other couples on the television, but no complaints guyzs, its a personal choice. Everyone can move on, and everyone does, so have most of us, but some of us are still there, some emotional fools, some senti-mentals, who are stuck with that one thought in our mind, 'Why did Armaan n Riddhima have to separate on that unfateful day in the hospital?'

What if that one accident, that changed Armaan n Riddhima's life, which affected us all way too deep, hadn't happened? Perhaps, Armaan n Riddhima would've got married happily as some other couples do. But DMG was never a household drama (excluding the whole marriage fiasco of Armaan-Riddhima-Siddhant), it had always been a fresh breeze for the youth, a swirl of coolness that filled us all with laughter, happiness, tears of joy, n all the most, lov

Armaan and Riddhima had always been clinging to their love-hate relationship, throughout the journey portrayed to us. But that wasn't what expressed their true love. What emits the true love, is the thread of attachment that they couldn't break, even after being separated.

Armaan and Riddhima separated that day, n it was becoz of this fact that we got to see the intensity of lov, that they both had shared. It was evident in each passing episode that we watched since then. It is said that there's a very thin, fine line, drawn between lov, and hatred. You can only hate a thing, if once in a lifetime, at any single point, yu can allow yourself to love it. Rest of the things, yu are indifferent to them, n they'll never effect yu in any way. Riddhima was filled with hatred, at the fact that Armaan had left her, after the accident. Though she tried to distance herself from him, but unknowingly, she only brought him closer to her heart, intermingling their lives in a way she didn't know. Then, when she discovered the truth, she behaved in the most impulsive way, a lover would behave. She went crazy looking for him, ending the wild goose chase in her own destruction. Life became a living hell for her, and she took the most irrational decision, to end it. That was because of the hollowness that Armaan's absence had caused in her life. She'd gone from being a bright, intelligent, independent, shy and what not girl, to become the lifeless rag doll, who was numb and pale within. Till the day she got married, she lived in pain, only to die. She was succumbed into the vacuum of life, that pulled her deep within it. It is human tendency to react abnormally to break-ups, and failure in love. So can we even imagine the depth of Riddhima's heartbreak when she got married to Siddhant, considering her epic lov for Armaan.

Armaan, on the other hand, is a legendary lover, whom all the girls ask for in their prayers. The guy is beyond perfect, with all his flaws, if one could find him in real life. His love for Riddhima, has no words to be described by. Assuming we all understand the real intensity of his love, I will move on to something else that I can describe. After the accident, it is very normal for Armaan to move away from Riddhima, given his unstable mental condition. No one who is truly in love, wants to inflict any pain on the other partner. The question isn't if his decision was right or wrong, but what did he feel, when he went away. For someone like Armaan, it sure couldn't have been easy to leave Riddhima. He'd already gone way to far, to steal her love, from her, from her family, from the rest of the world. And then, giving it all up, in a fraction of a second, couldn't surely have been fun for him, could it? Away from Riddhima, Armaan led a life longing for her, for the security that she enveloped around him, for the warmth of her smile, for the playfulness of her eyes, for the naughtiness she inspired in him. Yet he lived, detached from all of it, due to his deteriorating condition. But Riddhima's love was the fact that kept him alive, that inspired him to go back to her, to come out of the well of sickness that surrounded him. He managed to come out of it all, to weave a better future for the two of them, to give her all the love that he'd promised. He overthrew every possibility that kept her away from him, and fought the longing to see her, until he knew he was fit to do so. And finally, after the long awaitedness, he did meet her.

The two souls rejoiced in their union, such that when they met, they were beyond happy to see each other. The union of red and white, the true colours of love, in the pastoral greenery. But the realization of truth by Riddhima, and the discovery of truth by Armaan, the truth of Riddhima's marriage, shattered the two of them. Riddhima vented all her anger at him, humiliating him, hoping to keep him away from her, because she knew life wasn't gonna be easy now. She couldn't go back to him, she had a duty towards Siddhant, and moreover, the world shall blame Armaan, if she broke her marriage on any account, be it the fact that she was irrevocably in love with Armaan since the time he'd sprinkled the seed of love in her life, since the time he'd made his place in her life, since she'd learnt what love truly was, all thank yu to him. She could blame Armaan for everything that he hadn't done, and Armaan would accept it, that was the extent of her right on him. But if anyone else even pointed a small finger towards him, she would sure as hell ruined that person, that was her extent of love.

Armaan couldn't have been more hurt, than the time he was when truth was smashed on his face, that Riddhima was already married. But he took it all, as she blamed him for their life's misery, n he accepted it without a question. To see her happy, he broke his own heart into eons of pieces, by trying to bring her closer to Siddhant. One can only dare to imagine the agony he might have gone through, but he did it all, with a smile. He never denied that he loved her, he never stopped loving her, he had made it very clear, to her, and to himself as well. Yet, he desired happiness for her, and if it was with Siddhant, he himself would gift wrap it and give it to her.

With passage of time, Riddhima shared a steady relationship with Siddhant, but Armaan completed the equation somehow. He completed their relation, without whom Siddhant and Riddhima stood nowhere. Then entered Shilpa, fresh air to Armaan's life. She tried to fill his emptiness, his hollowness. She tried to take away the pain that bit through him whenever he saw Riddhima with Siddhant, tha pain that engulfed him whenever he remembered the good times of his life that he had spent with Riddhima. She tried to be a medicine to his wounds, a healer that had almost worked, almost. Entered with Shilpa, Riddhima's jealousy. Riddhima's lov, that she had successfully buried in a tiny corner of her heart, came out seeing the intensity between Armaan and Shilpa. Their intimacy scared her, as she saw herself losing Armaan. Armaan, who had just taken a step towards Shilpa, as a friend, was again shook by Riddhima's response towards Shilpa. Riddhima's jealousy only ignited the flare of lov that burnt within his heart. His love was a fire, that was fanned by Riddhima in her hatred towards Shilpa with no fault of the latter. Armaan figured out Riddhima and Siddhant's relation that had progressed no more than earlier, and made his advances. A last chance, to himself, to Riddhima, and to their life. It was now, or never.

With this, took place a series of events, where in Armaan realized that Riddhima indeed cared for Siddhant, but deep within, she loved Armaan, only him. She confessed it on the day of the accidental mishap at the hospital, to Armaan, that she saved Siddhant's life first, cared for him more, because she felt responsible for him. But as for Armaan, he was her own life, and as per her nature, she had learnt to put other's life before hers. That showed the extent of ownership she believed she had on him, and Armaan rejoiced at this fact. That day, everyone learnt, that Armaan and Riddhima's lov was something that could never end, including Siddhant, and he left the couple in peace.

After a bit more drama, they both united, as the made for each other couple. The story ended at a happy note, bringing again the tears of joy that we had been missing since long. It all ended well, but we regretted the fact that it ended so soon. On the contrary, it could be seen, that had it been stretched more, Riddhima couldn't have got the fairytale beginning of her life, but would have to content herself with the irritating family drama that would have happened ahead.

Ultimately, we realize that they truly, madly and deeply loved each other, given to the fact that they suffered the pain of separation. Had there been no twist in the fairytale story, it wouldn't have been loved as much as we lov it today. So in a way, the pain of separation brought them close, but that was only because they were passionately in lov. It is not important that history shall repeat itself everytime, right???
