Need to see more indian dances

India is sooo diverse... there are so many cultures..

and its a shame that dance INDIA dance has completely overlooked that..

all they do is hip hop and contemporary, and a little bit of ballroom here and there... its almost sickening :/

It would be nice to see something like kathak, or very hardcore bhangra... maybe some rajasthani dances or garbas... There are countless types of dances in India..

There is just as much skill and training required to do some of these dance styles as there as a hip hop or contemporary.

Im sorry but i really think that in the hope of becoming an "international" platform, DID is really missing the point.

Yep they should not forget the roots and the culture. Perhaps some of the contestants do not know this at all.

Hope the Channel wakes up sometimes and cuts down some of the unnecessary circus and gymnastics.

Yep, I agree. And they go and eliminate a guy who is amazing at "Kalari" type dances in Shafeer. Boring to watch the same "contemporary" type moves.

atleast he attempt with brlliant Energy, and just i am not impress , while every contestant standing & clapping for What Shafeer did.

The worst part is when they say "you didn't do anything extraordinary, it was a simple performance". They only say that when people didn't jump off something or hang off something or did some crazy circus moves. Might aswell name the show "India's got talent"

HA! good luck with that. This is probably the 7th topic in season 3 which talks about Indian dances need to be shown, and which falls on a iron wall.

A few posters in the forum cannot change it, DID will show what masses want to see and Indian masses do not want to see Indian dances. period. thats why dancers like kruti, nikkitasha, amrita are voted out, dancers like punambalam and maulika, shafeer r eliminated in kasauti round.

As for making the show international. What a big joke. International shows have proper ballroom dances, not FANCY lifts over car and tyres. International shows have proper contemporary with more proper TECHNIQUE, not fancy gymnastics to show how elastic you are.

Sadly India has become so westernized that our classical forms are becoming lost. Its very sad and disappointing. :(

Spot on! I am so so tired of contemporary and hip-hop although i loveee contemporary style 😭 this season is getting sooo boring. The masters need to really buck it up for god sake and try other styles...bollywood? manipuri? mohiniyattam? MJ? L&P? there are so many other styles 🤢
