I never thought of it that much, but really all the marriages in the show are dysfunctional. Except for Shamu and Nainas. That was a normal marriage as far as I could tell, nothing deceptive there.

All Sax kids, however, are living lives of deception. While Prats it decieving Krishna with good intentions, Adarsh is plainly decieving Komal for his own good. Arushi is just denying that her marriage is in trouble. Seriously, why she is not thinking about saving her own marriage and instead meddling in other's personal matters is beyond me. Now that is the $64 million question. She leaves TN meekly without a word even after K tells her he'd take care of her. No "hum nahin jayenge". Shamu is become less significant in his own home😛. Prats walks in and takes over and everyone falls in line. Interesting how she shows up just on the day Komal puts her thumb print on the document. Wasn't Adarsh in a rush to file the papers at lunchtime? So how come the original papers were back in his room for Komal to present to Prats? Did the lawyerwa not show up at the courthouse.

I do not think that Kriya's marriage is in any trouble though. It's strong enough to withstand SS's attempts at Krishna's remarriage. The only way that Krishna would get remarried is if GD or SS pretends to be on their deathbed and asks for a grandchild as their last wish. That would mean K has short term memory loss about telling Prats he will be just as happy just having her in his life without a little girl to call their own.

You've written it all, there's nothing much I can write here. But please do continue these posts of yours, regardless of whether you're watching the show or not 😊 I recall the many discussions we had in those days when the storylines gave us a lot of food for thought.

Yes, it is sneaking out of this marriage that is indeed rat like. When we see a woman being married off to a man who is in no respect her equal, we make lot of hullabaloo about how she should come out of it but what about a man. Is it ok to keep up a facade in the name of a sacred institution. Physical closeness, affection, romance is all very fine but what about mental compatibililty. In Kriya's case, Pratigya is happily married because now there is no Krishna. He reacts the way she does, talks in the manner in which she wants him to, behaves in the manner she expects him to. He has become Pratigya. But this is an unusual situation, an exception!

Komal failed to merge her personality into Adarsh's and vice versa. But is marriage all about self effacement? Is it not about self expression. An educated man like Adarsh, can he not be expected to have decent conversation with his wife or at least be spoken in a little more genteel manner. Marriage is about growth and the Cvs have failed to show the growth in the characters. Hence failed marriages and stagnation.

I love patterns as you can tell, that shows up in what I deduce from the posts on MKAP. Can you imagine how much more I'd write if I actually watched the show?😆 All this from just reading posts here.😛
