i have read a lot of speculation about the addition of the six month clause and wondered a lot abt it myself, your explanation makes the most sense to me... now i m glad they added it and apart from the very first scene where they discuss the marriage, it wasnt an add on in todays marriage scene, BS actually said it, so as long as they r going to stick to it, it should make an interesting story
