I don't think we should be merging the names off the gods...I find it disrespectful...this is not a regular love story nor a Saas bahu...it's based on our religion..which we should respect...

second: I really don't understand why we should give all "new"couples a merged name...why can't they not be themself (individuals) and we respect that...

GOD's name I would keep as it is...simply Divine when we call Lord Shiv, Mahesh, Mahadev or Goddess Sati, Parvati, Shakti...

and am glad to see the posts here which are exactly what I would like to say...no offence meant...
