His empire crumbled. Lost his Hitler like powerful position.
Could not do anything about Gaurav

Brahma wanted to erase the stigma called Gaurav by finishing him off if he cant make him straight. Now Brahma has to travel to Canada or US to do that but as a wanted criminal, he cannot travel on tourist visa obviously. For the moment he will forget that chapter.

Previously also he used Aditya as a pawn to imbibe fear in Priya and fall in line. He maybe thinking like this. If he cant have Aditya, then none can have him. Brahma is in such a state, where he will not think that clearly. Already he was a psycho sort of person. Now he will show them to what depths he can go as he has nothing to lose and others have everything to lose.

I am thinking about the smiling loving Brahma during his earlier days with Devyani (very brief period?) How he turned into a monster? Is it because of the police job which gives immense powers? Is it because of loose women available easily? Is it because his father did not take active interest to correct him in time? The personality change was rather drastic.

There were soft moments when he comforted Devyani when Gaurav was missing. Adi's appearances made him to become Dr.Jekyll for a while.

Uttara's constant presence and Gaurav's secret were trigger points more than Priya's little encounter with him.

The beauty of analysing characters in this serial. This serial can be called epic in the annals of television history. They found perfect casting or the cast proved their mettle and became the characters. Where else can you find a Brahma? Even his absence has a presence. And Roshnidevi who is the female Brahma in terms of authority. And Gaurav who smoothly won our hearts inspite of his erratic behaviour.The other characters are equally good. But Brahma, Roshnidevi and Gaurav are special for me.

Hope ... you seem to be forgetting, Brahma was responsible for putting Aditya in jail. Brahma may love Aditya more than anyone else but when it comes to the crunch, he cares about number one.
He also told Priya he is ready to forget his own kin if the need arises for him to protect himself.
So even though Brahma loves Aditya in his own psychotic way he will not think twice about hurting him. Just before he shot Priya he did say he held her responsible for losing Aditya. And he kidnapped Priya and was ready to kill her because he knew Aditya wanted her out of his life. He had not hurt her till then because he knew she was Adityas life. Brahma is a very complex character with complex feelings. So even though Aditya is the only one he has truly claimed to love, if the time comes Brahma would do anyhting to save his own skin.

I dont think he will hold Aditya hostage, then again this show is unpredictable and anything is possible. But no matter what Priya will be there for Aditya. She still loves him. But i agree they both need to talk and resolve their problems together.

he never planned on makign him stay overnight. in fact I think when RD intervened, Brahma pleaded to get Adi out

A lot of stuff he threatens Priya and Devyani with is bluff. he will only go so far.

I don;t think he will actually hurt Adi. Remember when he went to get the kids that first time she left him, Adi ran in his arms. Adi always loved him without reservation. even for monsters true love is sometimes hard to abuse. he is not devoid of feelings. the monster in him shows up because he priortizes himself over other.

you are right. CVs caould change things though

Brahma was willing to keep Adi in jail overnight just to teach Priya a lesson. He took Priya to this dungeon like place and blamed her for Aditya being in jail, that because of her he had to do this to Aditya. He made Priya go on her knees to free Aditya from jail.
What i'm saying is if Brahma is desperate he will do anything, maybe not hurt Aditya but he will Priya and this in turn will hurt Aditya.
Till now whatever he did, he did sneakily in a way that Adi never found out. Now since Aditya knows everything he will do it openly.
