dude this song was composed by AR Rahman not Himesh. He did compose some songs in the film... but this composition u r talking about was composed by AR Rahman (sigh)

verify at:

and dude.. for each their own.. Himesh is ur idol and u don't have to forget him...

and I have heard "tere naam" and i didn't think much of it... just average.

U might want to read this:

https://in.movies.yahoo.com/040810/128/2fhug.html

PS:

"The album sets off with oodles of confidence and pleasance with the title track. A pliable romantic duet by Kamal Khan and Sujata Trivedi slickly makes its way to your heart with a divine melody and velvety voices of both the singers. Not to forget the sensible andamp; emotive lyrics that cautiously unleash the narrative of the movie. Minimum yet most pertinent management of the musical instruments is also one of the specialties of the track. No points for guessing, this masterpiece is a product of two maestros - Rahman and Mehboob."

and:

"Himmesh Reshammiya who is otherwise one of the most sought after composers we have, has somehow failed to withstand the power of Rahman's astounding melodies. It will be rather interesting to discover whether its Rahman's sensation that hit the big time or its Reshammiya's deficient compositions that mar the overall impact of Rahman's charisma. "

its all there.. in the article. Just having 22 films at hand does not really make one talented enough. Bappi Lahiri, back in the 80's was immensely popular but hardly cared for now and he was one of the worst lot bollywood has ever seen.

So dude u have been praising a rahman number all this time thinking it was HR's.. I think u really need to rethink who ur IDOL might be.. lol.. kidding.

Bappida was known for making a lot of crazy numbers (crazy meaning lyrics are absolutely nonsensical, music heavily disco based). Though Bappida had some good ones to his credit. All songs of Sharabi (hard to believe that he made Manzilen Apni Jagah and Intehaa Ho Gayi... given that they were originals), and few others here and there. I do agree he is not like R.D. Burman, but he does have some good tracks to his credit.

It's funny you mention Bappida. Today, eighteen years ago, October 12, 1987, Bappida recorded his last number with Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle; a very forgettable number "Guru Guru.. Aa Jao Guru... Pyar Mein Ho Jao Shuru" picturized on Mithunda and Sridevi in a forgettable film "Waqt Ki Awaz." This song was the last song Kishoreda ever sang. This song is not like Tu Kahin Aas Paas Hai Dost (Rafisaab's last song) or Chanchal Sheetal Nirmal Komal (Mukesh's last song) which is readily available.

Tomorrow is his 18th death anniversary, as he passed away October 13, 1987. Rest in peace...

My comment on Bappi was for his majority of 'then" popular numbers. I agree he has made some great numbers too, Sharabi's "manzilein apni jagah" is awesome, great lyrics, great music and awesome singing. Apart from that, he had some good songs in Aitbaar ("kisi nazar ko tera" by Bhupender Singh ) and "Kya khabar Kya pata" by Kishoreda in Saheb.

He sure had some great songs to his credit but on the other hand he made mockery of indian music with songs such as "Icecream khaogi" and "gutturgoo" kinda songs. And how can one forget his tons of songs that he lifted straight off from the west.

I remember "Chanchal Sheetal Nirmal Komal, roop ki devi" from Satyam Shivam Sundaram.. what an amazing song it is. I wish Kishore da had something as memorable as this.

LOL.. no i don't have any personal problems wit Himesh and trust me he doesn't owe me any money (not that i remember any.. ).. kidding.

Dude.. All i am saying is.. u should get some of your facts right abt ur god. All these yrs.. u've been praising the song thinking ur god has composed.. has been composed by someone else.. isn't that bad?? So lets end it here.. Himesh is ur god but for me .. well i don't care much abt him and he owes me nothing. I would prefer a SD Burman or a Naushad or an AR Rahman or a Salil Chowdhury anydays to Himesh. So to each their own..

All i was doing was verifying your own facts that u presented and some of them were wrong.
