CHALLA is talked in different terms here challa is symbolising lover (wife) and he(husband) has gone out of the city after having fight with her. other beloved is trying to remember him and hoping that he will be back soon as it is a love season. in this song wife give reference to ma and urge him to come back and tells that she will put black chilli powder out (superstition)

thanks for another translating it . It is true sometimes there are words that are used in different notion everytime. This is a beautiful song, from a woman to her beloved. The song Reminds me of kaaga chun chun khayiyo and chaap tilak sab cheeni, both sufi songs by kailash kher. No wonder Challa is very popular that it is used in different versions. If I find lyrics for the version used in PP will sure post it. though guess there the meaning is more on friends and friendship.
