Arohi looked at the place where his hand was pointing and saw a gazebo, few feet's away and was surprised again. She could not say anything; it was like her voice was scared to come out. She could see a table and two chairs in the center; the gazebo was open from all the four sides and was decorated with red and white balloons and red and white drapes which were moving because of the wind.
Arjun took her silence as yes and then took her towards the gazebo. Arohi could feel the sand even below her sandals and suddenly remembered Shefali forcing her to wear flats. 'Does that mean she knew Arjun was bringing her here?' she thought. Her thoughts were broken when she was about to fall but at the right time Arjun held her keeping his hands on her shoulders. Arohi looked down and saw that there was a step which she missed.
"Are you okay?" Arjun asked concern visible on his face.
Arohi looked up and saw his concern. She nodded her head and said "I didn't see the step."
"You should be careful. What if you would have fallen and would have hurt yourself?" said Arjun a little angry and worried about her getting hurt.
"I'm fine Arjun, and I'll take care next time" said Arohi with a smile and assuring him.
Arjun nodded his head and then they walked towards the table. Arjun pulled out a chair for her and Arohi sat saying a small thank you to him. Arjun then sat opposite Arohi. The table was covered with red satin cloth with white plates and a white candle in the center which was covered with a glass surrounding the candle from all the sides, preventing it from blowing off. She could hear old romantic songs playing somewhere; she looked around and spotted a music player in a corner. There was another table, on which food was kept, covered properly with a microwave on the side. The gazebo was decorated very beautifully, and the atmosphere was so romantic.
All this was just for her, she smiled at the thought. It was really sweet of Arjun to do this all for her. 'But why did he do this?' she frowned. 'May be he likes me too' her face lit up and she smiled slightly but then again her face fell 'what if he's doing all this for our parent's sake? But then what about his concern when I was going to fall?' she questioned herself in her mind 'it can be as a friend.' She answered her own question. She was highly confused now. 'I think I should talk to him' she thought and looked at Arjun.
All the while Arjun was looking at her face and was seeing the play of emotions. Happy, sad, then again happy and then again sad and finally she looked at him.
"Arjun I want to talk to you" Arohi said seriously.
Arjun could hear the seriousness in her voice. But he was in no mood to have serious talks; he wanted to enjoy the evening and even wanted her to do the same. "We'll talk later. First we'll have food. I'll warm it up" Arjun said getting up from the chair.
Arohi looked at Arjun walking towards the food table. She wanted to talk to him, tell him what she was thinking. 'But he looks so happy. I think I should talk to him later' she thought 'It will be better.' "Enjoy the evening" she muttered remembering Shefali's word.
Arjun came back with the food and placed it on the table. Arohi looked at it and smiled widely it was her favorite 'Chinese.'
"But you don't like Chinese" said Arohi looking at Arjun.
"Yeah, but I can have it today" Arjun smiled and said while serving noodles to Arohi.
Arohi just smiled and then they both started having dinner whilst talking but Arohi noticed that Arjun was behaving a bit strange today. He was not talking much, was avoiding eye contact and seemed nervous, which was so unlike Arjun. Arohi brushed the thought off 'Maybe I'm reading too much' she said in her mind and got back to having dinner.
Arjun got up from the chair and stood in front of Arohi. He out-stretched his hand and bent a little "Would you like to have a dance with me?" he asked politely.
Arohi smiled and nodded her head. She kept her hand in his and stood up. Arjun kept one of Arohi's hands on his shoulder and took hold of the other. He then slipped his other hand on her waist pulling her closer and heard Arohi gasp slightly.
Arjun looked directly in Arohi eyes intensely. As the music started Arjun said slowly "Listen to the lyrics carefully… it says what I feel" he paused and then continued "FOR YOU." Arohi looked back in his eyes; her mouth slightly opened and eyes a little wide as she recognized the song. She was very shocked; she could not utter a word, she stood rooted at the spot. Arjun pulled her more closer leaving no space between them and started dancing.
Dil Ka Yeh Kya Raaz Hai, Jaane Kya Kar Gaye
Jaise Andheron Mein Tum, Chandani Bhar Gaye
Kare Chand Tarron Ko, Mashoor Itna Kyun
Kambakht Inse Bhi, Khoobsurat Hai Tu
I Love You Tu Ru Ru, Hmm No Re Yeah Yeah
I Love You U U Yeah Yeah, I Love You Yeah Yeah Yeah
Din Bharein Karein Baatien Hum, Phir Bhi Lage Baatein Adhoori Aajkal
Mann Ki Dhelizo Pe Koi Aaye Na, Bas Tum Jaruri Aajkal
Abarr Mein Hoon Tu Aasmaaan Hai, Paas Hai Tu Par Kahan Hai
Zidd Meri Tu Nahi, Meri Aadat Hai Tu
I Love You
Uu Ya I Love You Tu Ru Ru
I Love You .
Kabhi Kabhi Mein Khudse Hoon Yeh Poochta, Main Tere Kabil Bhi Hoon Kya
Itna To Hai Mujhe Maloom, Mil Ke Tujhe Behtar Insaan Ban Gaya
Thoda Thoda Tujhse Shikha, Pyaar Karne Ka Tarika
Dil Ke Khuda Ki Mujhe Inayat Hai Tu, I Love You U U Yeah Yeah
I Love You Yeah Yeah Yeah
Dil Ka Yeh Kya Raaz Hai, Jane Kya Kar Gaye
Jaise Andheron Mein Tum, Chandani Bhar Gaye
Kare Chand Tarron Ko, Mashoor Itna Kyun
Kambakht Inse Bhi Khoobsurat Hai Tu
I Love You Uu U U U U
I Love You…I I I I Love You Uuu
Uh Onnhh I Love You
I Love You...
All the time while dancing it was Arjun who was leading Arohi. Arohi was so shocked that she could not think straight. As Arjun had told her she listened to the lyrics carefully, she couldn't help but relate herself to it. Whenever 'I love you' would come she would look directly in his eyes and Arjun would smile. And as for Arjun the song was saying whatever he was feeling for Arohi, whatever he wanted to tell her, the song was telling. It was a perfect song.
The song came to an end and both were looking in each other's eyes. Arjun was looking at her lovingly and Arohi had lots of questions in her eyes.
"I Love You Arohi" said Arjun breaking the silence. Arohi didn't say anything she could not speak. "I do love you Arohi" he said again when she didn't say anything. "From the day I first saw you… My heart had recognized it as LOVE but my idiot mind would not accept it. And I being a biggest idiot accepted what my mind said" he laughed softly. "Now when I think about the time I spent with you, I have realized that with each passing moment the love only increased" Arjun paused "I started feeling things I never felt before. I wanted to be with you all the time; I wanted the time to stop whenever we went for dinners, coffees or parties and whenever some other guy would look at you; I wanted to rip his head off for looking at you" Arjun sighed. "But still I never agreed to the fact that such feeling is called love. I was too stubborn to accept it… if it wasn't for Romit… I guess I would have never realized it and would have lost you" Arjun said the last words in almost whisper and caressed her cheek. "And now that I've realized it… I don't want to lose you … I want to be with you… I want to love you…"
Arjun left Arohi and stepped back. He removed a velvet box from his pocket and bent down on one knee opening the box in front of Arohi. Arohi gasped when she saw Arjun bending on his knee and looking at the content in the box; it was a solitaire ring. And it was the same ring which she had liked when she had gone for shopping with Shefali at that time she had told Shefali that she wants 'her man' to give her that ring when he proposes her. 'That means Shefali told him, she knew everything but… wait is he proposing me?' she thought and looked at Arjun who looking at her before she could think of anything else Arjun started.
"I'm not good with words Arohi, but one thing I know is that I want to be with you for rest of our lives; I want have kids with you; I want to grow old with you by being by your side, by loving you, I can't imagine my life without you… I don't want to imagine my life with you" he paused. "Miss Arohi Ahluwalia, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife? Will you spend your rest of your life with me? Will you marry me?" he looked in her eyes hoping her answer to be a yes.
Arohi had tears in her eyes listening to his words. She had listened to each and every word of his carefully and could feel the love. She still couldn't believe that he first confessed that he loves her and then he proposed her. It was like a dream and she didn't want this dream to break; she didn't want to wake up.
Arjun on the other hand was getting restless 'Doesn't she loves me?' he thought and just the thought scared the hell out of him. He shook his head and took a deep breath "I'm waiting Arohi… Will you marry me?" Arjun said again.
Arohi smiled as few tears made their way down. She just nodded her head; words were not coming out of her mouth.
Arjun's face lit up seeing her nod her head. He smiled, his happiness had no bounds. He took hold of her left hand and slipped the ring in her ring finger and then kissed her hand and got up. He then pulled her in a tight hug and nuzzled his face in her hair. Arohi hugged him back keeping her head on his shoulder and looked at the ring. Tears were still flowing from her eyes.
"I love you Arohi… I love you more than anything else in the world" Arjun said hugging her tighter and waited for her to reply back.
Arohi as if noticed the plea in his voice said "I Love you Arjun" her voice almost a whisper. Arjun closed his eyes hearing her say the three words. He felt blissful.
They stood in the same position hugging each other for god knows how long. Arohi then broke the silence "This isn't a dream right?" she asked.
Arjun pulled back from hug; not leaving her and looked at her face. He wiped the tears and said "No, this is not a dream." Arohi kept her head on his chest and snuggled closer whilst Arjun kept his cheek on her head.
"I'm sorry that I made you wait and that I confused you so much" Arjun said after sometime time. Arohi looked up at his face trying to figure out about what he was talking. Then it stuck her that she had told this to Shefali before coming here. Did she tell him this? 'What's going on?' she was confused.
Arjun as if reading her thoughts said "Yeah Shefali told me… Actually when I got to know about my feelings I decided that I'll make the day special for you, for me, for us… At that time I called Shefali and told her to help me. She happily agreed and then helped me with everything especially with the ring. And today after you left to come here Shefali called me up and said what you said to her. She also told that she didn't want to tell me about this but she also didn't want to spoil our evening and whatever I'd planned" Arjun pausedand smiled. "She really is a good friend right? She warned me not to hurt you or else she'll kill me" Arjun chucked.
Arohi smiled "She's the best friend anyone can ever have but I'm not going to leave her. She's suppose to be my friend and she hid such a big thing from be from such a long time."
"Well that will have to wait. For now I'm not going to leave you" Arjun said mischievously and pulled her closer. Arohi blushed looking in his eyes and Arjun caressed her cheeks.
"Okay now tell me did you like the cottage?" asked Arjun.
"Yeah, it's beautiful" Arohi said, her mind drifted to the decorations in the cottage.
"It's for you… it is our holiday house" said Arjun and Arohi looked at him amused.
"Yeh toh shruaat hai Janeman" Arjun said picking her up in his arms.
Arohi shouted slightly and then asked "What are you doing Arjun?"
"I have more gifts for you" Arjun said walking towards the sea side with Arohi in his arms. Arohi looked towards that side and spotted two beach chairs. Arjun kept her on one of the chair and sat in front of her and then pulled the big box and a lantern towards him which was kept on the other chair. He lit the lantern so that there could be little light and then opened the box. He removed a card and gave it to Arohi. There were roses and hearts printed with a small message along with a big 'I LOVE YOU' written by Arjun. He then gave her a bouquet of roses, a white teddy bear holding a heart with 'I Love you' printed on it, a box of chocolates and finally he gave her a silver bracelet with a heart handing on it. Arohi looked at the heart and saw that their names were engraved on it. Her eyes became wet seeing so much love. She caressed the heart and gestured Arjun to put it on her wrist. Arjun did so and kissed her hand.
"Is this why you didn't speak to me whole week because you were preparing for all this?" Arohi asked looking at all the gifts. She then looked at Arjun who nodded his head answering her question. "But I didn't get anything for you" Arohi pouted.
Arjun smiled looking at her face and then moved a little close to her "You have one thing which you can give me now" He said huskily putting his fore-finger under her chin and lifted her face a little up to his level and leaned forward. "May I?" he asked looking directly in her eyes. Arohi knew what he was talking about. She parted her lips slightly and closed her eyes in response and waited for his lips to touch hers.
Arjun got his answer. He lowered his mouth on her, the kiss first was soft and gentle and slowly it became passionate. Arjun moved his one hand on her waist pulling her closer and kept his other hand on the nape of her neck, keeping her face in position. Arohi moved her hands on his shoulder clutching his jacket and then moved then them in his hair ruffling it. They kissed each other till they were left breathless. Arohi then kept her head on his chest and snaked her arms around his waist and Arjun hugged her back. Both were trying to control their breathing after the passionate kiss.
"You'll not leave me right?" Arohi asked snuggling close to him.
"Never!" Arjun said placing a kiss on her head.
It was 'A PERFECT VALENTINE'S' for both Arjun and Arohi…
