Although I agree with you completely, it's more of a question I have: Isn't it like this for some women? Their characters are questioned rather than trusted when they're seen with a man?
In this case, Khushi's character.
I have to admit though - it disappointed me a bit that Arnav distrusted Khushi, even though what he saw (taken into account) it makes sense. But I'm more disappointed from a general perspective: it's so typical that the hero suspects the heroine rather than trusts her. The whole Ram-Sita complex all over again. She has to prove her innocence rather than him trusting her.
But then, maybe, Arnav can't afford to trust Khushi. How well does he know her anyway? How well do they know each other? And he has trust serious trust issues.
Yes, indeed. Anjali is made a weakling so often when, in fact, she can deal with the truth of Shyam. She has indured so much already and it has made her stronger, but the writers seem to neglect that part of her character at times. It's frustrating. I do wish that they'd focus more on the female character developments and just move away from the stereotypical "all-sacrificing and silently enduring female heroine". I feel like they had Anjali and Khushi right in the beginning, but slowly they've moved toward weaknesses that tend to weigh their character down on the show.
They can still be damsels in distress while at the same time being strong characters.

Thank you for your kind words. To your question Isn't it like this for some women? Their characters are questioned rather than trusted when they're seen with a man? i I think you answered your own question by saying Ram - Sita complex. This is the unfortunate truth. Breaking that mold, that barrier, is what I expect in fiction, now and then. Maybe asking for too much. :-)
We will see what happens. A cast as good as Baru and Sanaya and Daljeet. A premise as strong as Arnav and Anjali's back story, A brillian tag line - I do not think there is any other movie or serial which has a better tag line than "Nafrat Pass Ane Na De, Mohabbat Door Jane Na De", and near perfect story line until last friday including amazing character graphs of Lavanya, Nani, Buaji not to mention ASR and Kushi (70% of the time) made this almost perfect. Almost. And every month of near perfection kept my expectations go up and up and up and I guess Ekta Madam was waiting there and stomped it down (no offence to people who like her serials - so apolgies before hand).

I've noticed the many outbursts after today's episode, and honestly I think that it's verging on an overraction. People need to calm down and think about it for a moment.

In my opinion, the episode was awesome. Why? Because 1) Barun's acting conveyed every single emotion raging within Arnav and even more, and 2) the confrontation between Arnav and Shyam was heart-stoppingly amazing and in character, and 3) now it makes complete sense if Arnav decides to marry Khushi - Shyam challenged him, and if there's one thing that provokes Arnav to counter-attack, it's being challenged - especially by scumbags.
Honestly, the dialogues were awesome - the episode rocked. I think that emotions are running really high in the forum right now. People wanted ArHi romance. They wanted some kind of perfect wedding, etc. (as if that would've been any less cliche). But there's so much more to the characters and the story - the conflict and focus in relation to Shyam and Anjali, it's needed and important. Today's episode gave Arnav even more depth and layers.
Arnav is in shock and emotionally distressed (vulnerable), because in just a moment his sister's marriage has been destroyed - he's been betrayed by two very important and trusted people in his life. He's barely recovered from the trauma when he decides to seek out Shyam and confront him - which led to Shyam being ahead in the game in terms of words. Shyam pulled off his mask, shocking Arnav further by the psychotic side of his, and openly provoked Arnav without an ounce of fear or regret in his eyes. He laughed into Arnav's face. No wonder Arnav was left speechless.
Bang on!Dang good episode- cudos to the actors & the dialogue writers⭐️👏👏.. Abhas did agr8 job.. Felt like killing him myself..
In addition to that, I love that the writers remembered who Arnav is as a person - he is a thinker. He may be silent now, but only because inside his head everything's in chaos and he's accessing the situation, trying to figure out how to handle Shyam. His focus and attention right now is all on Anjali - which makes sense, because she's his world. And he believes that Khushi's a part of the betrayal, so naturally he wouldn't be thinking of her in any other context.
Shyam challenged him - "what are you going to do about it?" he asked. If Arnav now decides to marry Khushi, it'll be in order to seperate Shyam/Khushi, avenge his own sister and make Shyam pay, and protect Anjali further. Again, this is in character for Arnav because he thinks in cost-benefit, not purely emotions. This is what makes Arnav uniquely different from other male heroes. This is what makes him intelligent. And why, in the end, he'll beat Shyam at any game.
Rightly so, his priority has to be Anjali now.. Khushi has not yet attained the same place in his life as his sister has.. Will take a lot of trust for that.. Moreover he's heard only a part of their interaction, from what he heard that was the only conclusion he could come to!
Now as for Khushi - yeah, it's sad that she might be used as a pawn because Arnav misunderstood the scene playing before him. But honestly, in Arnav's place, even I would have misunderstood that scene and counted Shyam-Khushi for betrayers. It may be that this was predictable (cliche, even), but it was realistically portrayed - and besides, cliches are cliches because they damn work.
Seriously. Just take a moment and consider things from the characters' perspective rather than your own. Everything that happened in today's episode was in character. The confrontation between Shyam and Arnav was so frigging awesome. And although that's purely subjective, let's not bash anyone just because some disliked the way it all happened and some didn't.
Wait and watch. Things are bound to get interesting and, eventually, we'll get our ArHi romance, but for now character development is really important to make the story progress and characters grow. Relationships that change and break and mend is what makes stories and characters interesting and beautiful - it's what gives them depth. Allow these characters to develop. Allow the relationships to change, the scales to tip, and the natural progress of each individual character to reach his/her point of self-discovery and trust.
And, for God's sake, allow LM to direct a few episodes on Shyam-Arnav's confrontation. I've waited for this moment (and I'm sure others have too) ever since I found out Shyam was Anjali's husband.
Okay, I'm done venting. Thanks for reading, and no offense to anyone 😳.

Ditto, man. The way that he humiliated Arnav, degraded his sister - I just wanted to wrap my hands around his throat and squeeze. Never ever hated a villain as much as I hate Shyam. Truly. Abhaas has done a fantastic job in portraying Shyam's twisted persona. It's no wonder people bought his manipulative ways. Even I would have. This is one of the best written villains on Indian TV, no doubt.
And Arnav's reaction... Gosh. The man has so much control, but even so the emotions leaked through at the true face of Shyam. Beautiful.
Rightly so, his priority has to be Anjali now.. Khushi has not yet attained the same place in his life as his sister has.. Will take a lot of trust for that.. Moreover he's heard only a part of their interaction, from what he heard that was the only conclusion he could come to!
Exactly. And I think that's what people have a hard time accepting. The fact that to Arnav, it's his sister and not Khushi who is the top priority. I've seen the popularly used "love makes you blind" concept many times on TV shows, but here's a love that doesn't make Arnav forget his sister in order to keep Khushi in his life. Honestly. I love Arnav for thinking of his sister's protection right now, fighting for it. Because his own love story is a small thing compared to the bigger picture (the deception and dark betrayal that his sister has blindly lived for years).
The confrontation between Shyam and Arnav is, in fact, an incredibly important and life altering moment in the story and Arnav, Anjali, and Shyam's lives. This is a huge turning point in the story - the point of no return, if you will. And people just need to keep that in mind before they complain. This is supposed to be one of the biggest and much awaited confrontations ever on the show. I'm enjoying it 😆

Yes, I did. Many posts. Some that even got me on the bad side of Tasha fans 😆
Thank you 😳

Hi Elysia,
How are ya 😊
Fantastic thoughts and am with you on this.
My take on serials is to watch each episode and pre-cap and surmise to an extent. After that it is somebody else's creative license after all.
Frankly this serial is much better than the other fare available on television.
I made a post on last night's episode and its somewhere around here...
But the gist of it is this
a) Am still patient on ASR. The guy got a betrayal from a family member he was living with for 3 years. We cannot expenct instant sense and calm from him...he should bounce back with time...of course if that time is dragged over a period of months then and only then its a bore
b) KKG, I was ok with her on Friday. the girl was in a shock. But her reaction yesterday could have been better...More still she needs to act decisively now...given that there is a real threat to Anjali's life
c) My most sympathy is with Anjali and the unborn...none of them deserve Shyam
For me the episode was great, it took the story forward, both ASR and Khushi know Shyam's real intentions and the acting was top notch. Barun and Sanaya were excellent and Abhaas was very very excellent and effective in the ASR-Shyam confrontation scenes

Most definitely. I don't watch a show unless the characters and story have depth. I wouldn't continue to watch if I felt that the writers cheated me.

Precisely. We're talking about a man with a troubled past. We're talking about a man who has experienced betrayal from his own before. We're talking about a man whose sister is his entire reason for existence. We're talking about a man who has believed Shyam to be a good man for years - and even saw him as a father figure, a brother, a good-hearted man to seek advice from. That image was shattered in five seconds.
Considering the whole picture, Arnav is doing a damn good job at dealing with it. I'd have grabbed the nearest thing resembling a weapon and gone after Shyam's head.
b) KKG, I was ok with her on Friday. the girl was in a shock. But her reaction yesterday could have been better...More still she needs to act decisively now...given that there is a real threat to Anjali's life
I agree. She has to really step into character now and act. Be strong. I feel that the episode yesterday was awesome in relation to her as well though - mainly because I could feel her confusion, her frustration with finding Arnav. It drew me nuts. LOL 😆
c) My most sympathy is with Anjali and the unborn...none of them deserve Shyam
Word. I believe that even Arnav would agree. It's going to be so sad (but intriguing) to watch him watch Shyam around his sister from now on. Knowing that he can't say anything while she's pregnant. It'll be torture.
For me the episode was great, it took the story forward, both ASR and Khushi know Shyam's real intentions and the acting was top notch. Barun and Sanaya were excellent and Abhaas was very very excellent and effective in the ASR-Shyam confrontation scenes
