Is it true that only the domestic revenue counts towards the box office status of a film?

Even if a film makes money abraod, it doesnt factor in?

And why is that?

Depends...if you want to prove Salman is the bigger star you consider domestic only. If you want to prove SRK is the bigger star you count international too.

No I mean what goes into determining if a film's a hit or flop?

I think its only domestic revenue, right?

both are counted..however domestic is important..otherwise it is only called a hit at overseas, for instance mujhse dosti karoget was a hit in the overseas
