16.
(inspired by Reeha)
She was standing at the balcony, her face gently rested on her palm. High above her, the stars shone brilliantly. And she was the first thing he saw when he entered the palace. As if she was standing there waiting for him.
And sure enough, when her awaiting eyes met his mesmerized one, they started to shine. Her face which was sulking just a moment ago, broke into the most genuine and the happiest of the smiles. Her face glowed, mirroring the thumping of her heart. Even from far apart in the lonely night, he could
feel her pulse raising and the blood rushing to her cheeks.
And when she was feeling like that, he only wondered. Wondered whether it was her sheer innocent beauty which shone the brightest in the night or the stars?
Neither. It was the tear of happiness that slid down her cheek which shamed the night stars and make the time stopped. As they looked at each other...
...and the time stopped.
As they fell...
deeper and deeper and deeper... 17. He thought that she was actually very naive for thinking he didn't notice her. Because he did. Whenever she peeked from behind the wall to look at him thinking that he didn't notice, he knew exactly what she was doing. And he let her. Because it was the only time she didn't put up the walls of ego around her and actually admire him. So what if he couldn't fully enjoy that admiration which was rarely shown in her eyes. As long as it existed, no matter how much hidden, it was enough. Enough for him. Enough for her.
Enough for
them. 18. Sometimes she acted just like a little girl. Gathering up air in her mouth, making her cheeks puff up then release the air noisily by hitting her cheeks with her fingers; it was so childish and un-princess like. Swinging her legs while sitting on the large chair and looking around the room, sighing loudly while admiring the classy and expensive interiors; she'd always give this bored un-royal expression.
And he'd peek from behind one of his files, books or newspaper and look at her. And she would notice his look and stop immediately. And he would smile at her obedience and hide his face again, never noticing the tongue she'd always stick out at him whenever he silently stopped her from doing another one of her bored actions.
After all, he was the King of Jaigarh and she was the Queen, of both the state and his heart. No matter how childish.
19. They never really felt distant from each other. Despite him being in another country and her being in another continent, they weren't really apart. They didn't even share the same sky anymore, for when the sun shone over him, she gazed at the night stars. But still, they weren't really separated.
Because when the night wind would blow, she'd kiss him. And when that kiss would reach him, he'd thank her by smiling at the stars.
Then a shooting star would fall and she'd wish on it to be in his embrace. And he'd open his arms wide in the pouring rain to feel her.
And she'd cry silently in her sleep when he'd do so. And he'd pray hopefully that she wipe away her tears. In her sleep, the kind loneliness would make her wipe away her tears and a gentle, strange shoulder in the unknown crowd would assure him that she was alright.
See, they weren't really apart. For them being together meant just to reach out...
...
and the rest was done.
