'JOSHI'LAY SACHIIN MIFFS PRIYAMANI

Cricketer Sreesanth allegedly intervened to stave off the offender and save the damsel in distress

Abhishek Raje

Far away from the prying eyes of the public and the watchful media, the CCL after parties are what most stars look forward to, as they get to relax and be themselves after a hard day of cricketainment. And with so many stars from different film industries mingling and bonding with each other, 'unforeseen events' like drunken antics and ego clashes can happen.
One such incident came to light after a peeved Priyamani allegedly tweeted and put up a BBM status expressing her hatred for a star-player from the Mumbai Heroes team! The micro-blog post and status read on the lines of how she hates a certain "S _ _ _ _ n of Mumbai Heroes (sic)". Within a few hours, the CCL brand ambassador got a barrage of messages from her friends on BBM and fans on the microblogging site, enquiring what her status message meant, informs a source. On digging deep, we find out that the mysterious "S...n" who got Priyamani all worked up is Mumbai player and actor Sachiin Joshi.
According to the source who was at the after party in Kochi — the day Bengal Tigers beat Chennai Rhinos, and Kerala Strikes defeated Mumbai Heroes — the stars landed up at the tournament's official after party held in a star hotel's banquet hall past midnight. Apart from the star players of the four teams, actresses Lakshmi Rai, Bhavana, Sonia Agarwal, Madhu Shalini, Sanjjanaa and Genelia D'souza, cricketer Sreesanth and other stars attended the bash. Recounting the incident that got Priyamani all miffed, an eyewitness tells us, "The party went on till 4 am and everyone began retiring to their respective rooms to catch some sleep. Priyamani too was on her way out. She began to wish everyone goodbye and was about to leave the party after catching up with cricketer Sreesanth. That's when actor Sachiin Joshi of Mumbai Heroes walked up to them and tried getting 'pally' with Priyamani." According to the source, Sachiin was allegedly inebriated and tried to hold her hand and even hug her, but she pushed him away. "Thankfully, before things got worse, cricketer Sreesanth stepped in and distracted Sachiin by taking him to the bar. Priyamani, who was fuming by then, stormed off," said the source.
What followed was the alleged BBM status update and tweet, which the actress apparently removed later to avoid a furore.
When Hyderabad Times contacted Priyamani, her mother, who answered the phone, said she was busy shooting and claimed "nothing like this has happened". While Sachiin's publicist Dale Bhagwagar replied saying "it's a fabricated story... someone is spreading stories for personal gain or vendetta".
Sachiin Joshi is not an unknown name in Tollywood. The actor, who made his Bollywood debut with "Azaan" last year, kick-started his film career by acting in Telugu flicks "Orey Pandu", "Mounamelanoyi" and "Ninu Choodaka Nenundalenu"

Cricketainment at its best

The nail-biting CCL matches held on Saturday in Vizag had spectators and celebs at the edge of their seats

Abhishek Raje

The enthusiastic crowd in the packed stadium and the viewers catching the matches on telly couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. The round of CCL-II matches that were held at the Vishakapatnam cricket stadium offered an exciting dose of cricketainment and on-field action.
The first match of the day that saw Bengal Tigers take on Kerala Strikers was a roller-coaster ride all the way. Actresses Lakshmi Rai, Bhavana and CCL brand ambassador Priyamani cheered on the men in green as their batsmen smashed sixers and fours across the stadium. The Kerala Strikers put up 149 runs on the board at the end of 20 overs. The Bengal Tigers got off to a slow start until Jisshu whacked a few sixers and got his team back into the game. However, eventually, the Tigers lost the match by one run.
The second match that followed had the crowds cheering on as their favorite Telugu stars led by Venkatesh took to the field. While actresses Charmme, Sanjjanaa, Meenakshi, Seiya Gautam revved the glam factor in the dugout, it was the Chennai Rhinos dugout that had a bevy of actresses in attendance. Actresses Sameera Reddy, Sonia Agarwal, Deeksha Seth, Sonia, Poonam Bajwa and others supported the Vishalled Chennai Rhinos. Mollywood star Lakshmi Rai too joined the Tamil team in the dugout. Chennai Rhinos decided to bat, but the Tollywood team got an early breakthrough as Jiiva was dismissed in the very first ball by Raghu. Vikranth and Vishnu guided the Kollywood team to a target of 150 runs.
The Telugu Warriors, who remain undefeated in the tournament, looked high on confidence. Charan, who played brilliantly in the second season of the tournament, rose to the occasion scoring 53 before being dismissed. He was aptly supported by opener Aadarsh who smashed 61 off 57 and remained 'not out', till the Warriors reached the target. He was adjudged the man of the match for his match-winning knock and the stadium echoed with deafening cheers from the elated crowd.

Newly-weds Riteish and Genelia walk into their hotel in Vizag on Sunday afternoon. After a Saturday reception that went on till late in the night, the couple, who flew down to Vizag to catch the Mumbai Heroes in action, looked rather tired, at their first public appearance together, post marriage.
