"Do, you realize that your assignment is half hour late? I thought that at least this one will be on time as it is your last assignment in this college." Ishika bit her lips as her professor continued to scold her on the importance of time. Ishika rolled her eyes when professor glanced down at the open folder taking a look at the research information. Ishika heaved a sigh and lightly tapped her foot as she was getting impatient. She was eager to get out of the lecture room. Today was her last day in Manali and she wanted to enjoy it to fullest before living the place where she had spent her entire life till date. But, her professor thought that even on her last day in town, her last assignment that was half hour late was more important than enjoying the day. 'Great,' Ishika thought, 'my last day in Manali and he has to ruin it for me. What was the need to go to that party?' She continued, 'Okay may be going to that party made me late in my assignment, but it was worth it,' she reasoned herself. 'After all I had to meet Dhruv. Now, if I didn't had to meet him than God would have never sent me to that party.' She let herself wonder off to last night's event and oblivious to the fact she is not even listening her professor continued on with his talk.

Ishika walked out of the class another half hour later, glad of one thing she would not have to see that professors face again in her life. It was clear that she did not like him; just like other students. Her friends ran to her as she walked by the college canteen in her own trance. She came back to Earth as all her friends started talking with her at the same time.

Xi'an University was buzzing with students. Some were running around, some were yelling over each other; and focusing on one group of students, they were looking around inspecting the crowded place and half done work by the other students. This year, Xi'an University was having New Year's Eve party on campus. Unlike every year with students going to their home towns, or gathering outside the campus for having small group parties, this year the whole college was getting together to welcome 2012!

"Oh god, help everyone! Nothing is done and New Year's Eve Party is only four days away. With this pace, and yelling more than working, New Year will be long gone and still the party would not be ready."

Dhruv shook his head, no more agreeing with his best friend but, instead he said, "Don't worry AT, everything will be done. Calm down."

Yash said sarcastically, "Look who is talking, the Mr. on time." Hearing this, Antara started pacing up and down the atrium, and Yash earned a glare from Dhruv. Dhruv whispered, "Dude, I was trying to calm her down. Because obviously she is right! But I can't just tell her that or else she will freak out completely. More than she already is." Yash nodded agreeing to that part which made Raj gape at him, "And you still said that!"

Yash defended himself, "Well, I just love it when she freaks out! So in middle of this crazy campus and boring atmosphere, I was just trying get myself some entertainment." Hearing this both Raj and Dhruv hit there forehead then looked up to give him a glare that said clearly, out loud. You better not ruin the situation or else you will have to control a freaked out uncontrollable AT.

"Okay fine! I will go to the arcade room and entertain myself there." Yash said frowning at his friends. Dhruv and Raj looked at each other and before they both could stop him, he was already out of one of the doors of atrium.

From the door opposite to which Yash walked out, Jayraj and Sunaina walked in but, upon reaching the group and seeing Antara - who now, had stopped pacing and was ordering a passing by student to hold the posters properly and stop goofing around ' Jayraj gave a thumbs-up to the trio and made for the nearest exit.

Raj commented, "Why did he even walk in here, if he didn't want to stay?"

Sunaina replied, "You should know, he is your brother," saying so she walked up to Antara to make an effort to calm her down."

Raj said to Dhruv, "It's so hard to figure girls out at times."

Dhruv chuckled, "Only when heart and mind start fighting. And if they do; than that's the sign."

As both of them weaved their way towards Antara and Sunaina, "Sign of what?" Raj asked.

Dhruv gave a look to him that said, 'Are you seriously asking that?!' Then he said, "Sign of Love." By now they had reached the girls and Dhruv looked at Sunaina, telling her that he will take over and she could rest for mean time. As clearly, Antara was still not calmed down, and Sunaina had no idea what else to do to make her friend sit down and forget everything for few minutes.

It was long time now since the regular day college study hours had passed. Now only few students, who were taking late evening extra classes, lingered towards the lecture rooms building. Antara, Yash and Dhruv were sitting in the left side campus garden. Their friends had retired to their dorms or houses - where ever they live ' to call off the tiring day. As the moon was making its way up and stars started to glitter as night took over the sky, the trio gazed at the outside of the University. Christmas lights, that were used for the decorations on the roof linings and garden trees and bushes sparkled in there eyes. All three were feeling fresher now than they had in the whole day.

Antara sat up straight as she just remembered something. Yash and Dhruv glanced at each other and than looked at Antara. Dhruv said, "What happened?"

Antara hit her back head lightly and scolded herself than said to Dhruv and Yash, "I forgot something, that's what happened."

Yash asked, "Okay than what is that you forgot?"

"Did I tell you that my friend is joining the college on New Year?"

Dhruv and Yash said together, "You definitely didn't mention that part."

Antara sighed, "I thought so, how can I forget, she is coming in town tonight and may be tomorrow evening she will come to fetch her schedule and books. But officially her enrolment starts on New Year, when the new term starts."

Yash asked, "Cool, who is she? Where is she coming from?"

Dhruv added, "She is joining in the middle of the year?"

Antara smiled and started from the last question, "Yes, in middle of the year. I know, but she had no other choice, and about the second question ' she is from Manali and about who she is' you will have to wait and find out. It's better if you just meet her face to face."

"She might be some one than, if you are not even telling us her name." Yash said while Dhruv just looked at the excitement stirring up on Antara's face.

Antara smiled, "Oh she is. I haven't seen her in long time. I wonder how she looks now."

Dhruv asked surprised, "You don't know how she looks?"

Antara repeated her last word, "Now," she explained, "We haven't seen each other since childhood. Basically, since I moved to Kashmir. We used to stay in touch over phone calls, but once we got into college and she moved in dorms of her college, and I also made new friends," Gesturing at Yash and Dhruv for example and continued, "and got into my own life. Then we just lost touch."

Yash asked confused, "Than how did you get in touch now?"

Dhruv asked a complete different question, "But, if she was in Manali since beginning, and attending college there only, why doesn't she live at her own house? Why in dorms? That just doesn't make sense to me."

Antara's smile faded as she heard both questions. Evidently, even though questions were opposite, they were linked together. Yash and Dhruv looked at each other; upon see the color go off of Antara's face. They looked back at her, waiting for her reply. But she didn't say any thing. Her eyes reflected that she had gone far away.

After a long silence, Dhruv said, "AT? What happened?"

Antara blinked, refocusing on the present. In effort to let the conversation go, she replied, "It's getting late, I would better head home." Before Yash or Dhruv could argue or ask any more questions, she got up and walked away.

Dhruv yelled behind her, "Well, at least if we don't meet your friend tomorrow, or until she officially joins, you are going meet her naa?"

Not waiting for an answer Yash continued, "Don't forget to invite her to the New Year's Eve party. I am sure she can come as she is soon going to be a Xi'an student."
