As an IPKKND fan living overseas I have a few questions. This is my first time EVER watching an Indian TV serial and my understanding of what and who is popular in India is very limited. From reading the Forum I have gathered that family drama, centered around MIL & DIL issues are generally popular and the main character usually is a heroine.
If anyone out there can shed some light on these questions, would be nice 😊:
1. How popular IS Barun Sobti in Tellywood - India ? (I know that he has a huge fan base on IF and other forums, specially fans living outside if India - but I am curious if he is as popular in India)
2. The TV celebrity ranking (where Barun is ranked #3) based on votes from IF members or does that includes votes from fans everywhere ?
3. Does the TRP include foreign viewers who watch StarPlus overseas ? if not, is there a system to take that in to account ?
4. Is IPKKND storyline and characters, considered somewhat "untraditional" compared to what is the norm in most StarPlus stories ?
Please bear with me - I am trying to get some perspective. Somwhere in IF I read that in India, IPKKND is considered "Kushi's Story" and the male leads are not considered significant. This made me smile thinking how our Forum Lives and Breathes Barun Sobti.😊 Made me curious about the preferences and differences between viewers in India and Overseas..and how much of an effect/influence it has on the future of these shows and actors.
