Maan tucked Geet in bed and sat next to her to assure her that he was there for her all the time. She was still a bit scared and even though she knew Maan would be there, she wasn't ready to close her eyes. After lot of persuading, she closed her eyes and fell into deep slumber. Maan climbed in bed next to her and sat, resting his head on the back board.

He looked up at the ceiling and thought deeply. He had to do something about it. He couldn't just stay back. After a while, he got his laptop and did a few things. Just when he was about to log off, Annie came online. He gave a slight smile and instant messaged her. They talked for a while and Annie felt better. But not perfectly alright. She finally decided to tell him.

"Hey, Maan. Remember the day we met, I had told you I have something important to tell you?"

Maan recalled and replied, "Yes, of course. What was it? You never told me."

"Maan, I'm adopted." She said instantly before she had the chance to change her Maan. He received a surprise but he did the unexpected.

"No big deal! We are still friends. I'm glad you told me."

Annie was pleasantly surprised. She was afraid that he might act sympathetically if she told him. But he didn't. He acted normally with her and she liked that about him.

"So what's the problem?" he asked her. "You aren't happy?"

"No. I'm happy! Of course I am. It's just that I want to find my real family, you know. I want to know how they are. There are tons of unanswered questions roaming in my head since the day I found out."

Maan understood that. "That's a good thing. Can I help?"

"I don't know. I haven't been able to find any lead at all. Mom had kept my name Annie when they adopted me. So I don't even know my real name. I'm confused."

He suggested, "Well, why don't you start with the orphanage where you were left?"

"I'll be going there over the weekend. Hoping that I find at least some lead'"

"Don't worry. You will." He made her believe.

"Thank Maan."

"So what else?"

They continued talking and jumping from one topic to another. Eventually, they ended up talking about Geet.

"You know, Geet really is nice girl." Annie said.

"She has to be. She's Geet after all." He said proudly.

"Yea right. Why so?" she asked teasingly.

He thought about Geet and all her little things he admired. He didn't know why, but he knew she was special. Special in more than just a 'friend'. His heart raced as he thought more about her. He turned his head to look at her peaceful sleeping face gazing back at him. He smiled and replied, "I don't know. She just is."

Annie laughed at her place. She sent back, "Is your heart racing?"

Maan was surprised. How does she know? He questioned himself in his head. When he didn't reply, she suppressed a pleasant smile and asked the next question, "You are blushing right now?"

He was again left surprised. The answer to that question was 'yes' too. Again, he didn't answer and she asked again, "And you are not sleepy right now. Surely, you wouldn't be talking to me when it's that late over there."

He asked, "What does all this have to do with Geet?"

She giggled. The person who always explained things to her needs an explanation right now. She typed a part of lyrics of the song, "Dil dhadke nazar sharmaye, to samjho pyaar ho gaya, pyaar ho gaya. Raaton ko neend na aaye to samjho pyaar ho gaya, pyaar ho gaya."

Reading this, he giggled at first not wanting to accept that. But she said, "I'm serious Maan. You are in love."

At first, he denied. But then again, all the symptoms matched. The questions Annie asked a few seconds ago all answered in a yes. Again, he looked at Geet. not knowing what to accept. Annie waited for a reply, but when she didn't get that, she kindly said, "Good night Maan." And then logged out.

Maan sat there thinking if Annie was right. All the moments they had had, the sparks, were because somewhere he was in love? Unknowingly, he fell asleep in sitting position itself.

The next morning, Geet woke up and found Maan sitting and sleeping. She got up and with all her might, pulled him a bit down so he can sleep properly. Then she covered him in blanket and went to get ready.

Maan woke up few minutes later suddenly feeling warm. He looked aside to not find Geet there. He panicked and woke up immediately. "Geet?" he called out. But since she was in the shower, she didn't hear it.

He checked the whole house and with each second, he kept on getting negative thoughts. He came back to the room and heard the tap water go off. He sighed a sigh of relief. I'm getting worked up for no reason. I should have checked the bathroom the first thing.

Feeling a bit silly then, he went outside into the balcony. The sweet, wind cuddled up around him and he enjoyed the early morning rays.

Kyun hawa aaj yun gaa rahi hai
Kyun hawa, aaj yun gaa rahi hai
Kyun fiza, rang chhalka rahi hai

He looked up at the sky and even though it was bring early morning, he could see the moon.

Chaandni, din mein kyun, chhaa rahi hai
Zindagi, kis taraf jaa rahi hai
Mere dil bata kya hai ye silsila
Kyun hawa, aaj yun gaa rahi hai
Gaa rahi hai, gaa rahi hai

He heard the door open and saw Geet coming out to the balcony to dry her hair. They passed huge smiles to each other and Geet resumed drying her hair.

Maan imagined her singing the vocals and gazed at her dreamily. When Geet turned to look at him, she saw him gazing at her continuously. She went near him and asked him if he was okay. He blinked the imaginative Geet away and nodded. Geet went inside and he was left baffled. Now he was imagining her as well!

Jahaan tak bhi jaayein nigaahein, baraste hain jaise ujaale
Saji aaj kyun hain ye raahein, khile phool kyun hain niraale
Khushbuwein, kaisi ye beh rahi hain

He went in the kitched and found her making breakfast. The aroma of her filled the area and touched his nose rather than the smell of the cooking food. His heart raced at the fragrance.

Dhadkanein jaane kya keh rahi hai
Mere dil bata ye kahaani hai kya
Kyun hawa, aaj yun gaa rahi hai
Gaa rahi hai, gaa rahi hai

Geet was putting things on the table as they were ready to be eaten. He imagined her twirling in circles around him in a white churidaar singing the same vocals. Soon enough, he realized it was his imagination as she never wore churidaar's. But he smiled at the sweet imagination of how mesmerizing she looked in the churidaar.

Without giving away anything else, he quietly sat down to eat not wanting Geet to suspect anything at all.

As he exited the door, Geet said she'll be down soon. He continued walking to the car and passed the small garden filled with beautiful roses. Even in them, he kept on seeing Geet dancing around in the same white churidaar. He kept gazing at them with a sweet smile planted on his face.

The Geets' in the flowers disappeared singing the vocals and he knew then that he was in love. And he couldn't have been any happier. He was in love with Geet. But then, one question raised in his mind. Does she love me too? What if she doesn't? He saw Geet come out and he made up his mind. He'll find out about her feelings one way or another. He had to.
