Niharika never wanted Ram married because she feared that when Ram's wife comes he will be swayed away from herself and thereby her ALL TIME ATM might be lost!
Marrying Priya to Ram was actually Mama's idea...
It all started with Kartik refusing to marry before Priya is married. AT that time Priya's mom and Ayesha were shown to be dependent on Priya for every small thing but not acknowledging it with enough gratitude / grace. They used to be absorbed in themselves and Ayesha's modeling. They always loved Priya but did not show as much as they do now...
Also Priya is shown to be forgiving in nature, for her family. She always stood up for the family against outsiders but at home she would always forget and forgive...
Mama had observed all this during the meetings for Kartik and Nuts's wedding. However, he interpreted it wrong and took Priya to be a meek, obedient, voiceless, spineless, dumb and "HARMLESS" person who was not even respected or tolerated by the family. "Poor helpless Cow"
In short he thought of her position in her family to be like Ram's position in his family. Where people depended on him but he has no place in their scheming self absorbed hearts.
So Mama recommended it to Niharika that Priya should be married to Ram. He aimed for multiple goals by doing this:
1.Nuts was already pregnant before wedding. and they did not want that fact to come out. If Priya did not marry soon, Nuts Kartik would also not marry soon and then it would be difficult to hold on to the pregnancy secret. So they wished to Get rid of Nuts fast. Marrying Priya to Ram would speedup Nuts Kartik wedding as well and a social embarassment wouldd be avoided.
2. People always ask about Ram getting married and the ystill get annoying Gold Diggeres' Rishta's for the very eligible bachelor Ram which would stop after he getting married.
3. As according to Mama Priya was so much of "poor helpless cow" that she won't give Niharika a hard time and was so dumb that she'd never catch on the hidden motives of Niharika Mama and Sid.
4. According to Mama Priya has such a hopeless personality and looks that Ram will never be attracted to her really and Raya will never have a healthy relationship: (mostly) resulting in no heirs for the Kapoor legacy... which would help the gang in put their righteous claim over all of it...
5. Last but not the least Niharika will look like a concerned a mom who wants to see her stepson well settled in life. It will be good for her social image.
Thus Mama influenced Niharika's thinking and they took initiative to marry Priya and Ram... And then after the restaurent pseudo-proposal incident, Niharika took credit for everything as is rightly mentioned by leo4ever
